Obituary: Melroy J. (Butch) White Jr., 63, of Merritt Island, FL passed away unexpectedly, in his home, on 12th 2011. Born in Olean, NY on 13, 1947, he was the son of Melroy J (Mel) White Sr. and Thyrza (Clark) White. He moved from Olean to Merritt Island in of 1989. Butch served in the Army National Guard from Feb 1965 until his Honorable Discharge in Nov 1969. He was a member of the Eagles Club, enjoyed golf and the warm Florida sun but nothing compared to his love of shooting pool, at which he has won numerous trophies. He will be greatly missed and loved among all his family and friends. Surviving are 3 brothers, Richard (Dick) and Sue Raymond of W. Henrietta NY, Ray (Whizzer) and Sandy White of Merritt Island, FL. Ted White of Merritt Island, FL. One sister, Melody (Dee) White-Meness of Maniwaki Quebec, Canada. 3 children, Robert (Jeanette) Brookins of 29 Palms, CA. Nicholas Grimes of Orange, CA and Tracy White-Baker of Olean, NY. 4 Grandchildren, Darrian Baker of Olean, Alyssa (Brookins) Skow of San Bernardino, CA, Shanna and Samantha Brookins of 29 Palms, CA. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Virginia White and sister Valerie. Calling hours will be held on 16, 2011 from 1-3pm at Wylie-Baxley Merritt Island . under the direction of Wylie-Baxley , Merritt Island, FL. |

Obituary: Melissa Rae White, 31, of Palm Bay, Florida, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on , 19, 2015. She is survived by her parents, Warren White, of Richmond, VA, and Teresa White, of Ruther Glen, VA; the love of her life, her fiance, Steven Widmayer; her sisters, Sara (Mark) Jackson of Melbourne, FL, and Karen (Kevin) Collins of Ruther Glen, VA; nieces, Zoe and Kaysa Jackson of Melbourne, FL, and Kaelin Collins of Ruther Glen, VA; nephew, Kevin Collins of Ruther Glen, VA; her grandparents, David and Jean Satterwhite of Snell, VA, and Goldie White of Richmond, VA; and her beloved kitty cat children Bella and Sophie. She will also be missed by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Melissa affected everyone she met with irresistible joy, a ready smile, and a happy personality. She was sweet and kind and bore no ill will towards anyone. Her love of family, friends, and animals showed an empathy admired by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She lived with lighthearted joy, showed unselfish kindness, and endured the pain of leukemia for love of her family and the hope her resistance gave them. Melissa was a loving and adoring second mother to her nieces, Zoe and Kaysa, and helped mold them into the fine young women they have become. Melissa was a conscientious hard worker and spent many years in the quirky confines of Hot Topic before moving on to a career with the Florida Institute of Technology. Melissa had a voracious appetite for reading books from all genres from the independent to the classics. She loved puzzles, crosswords, riddles, and problem solving. She enjoyed true crime documentaries and complex serial TV dramas. She loved to spend time with Steven and family. Our hearts have a void that can never be filled, but the awesome memories we have will last us all a lifetime. We take solace in knowing she has received her angel wings in Heaven. We have faith we shall see her again. A memorial service will be held at Bowling Green Baptist Church, 225 North Main Street, Bowling Green, Virginia on , 3rd at 2:00 pm. A Reception and time to visit with the family will follow the service at the Family Ministry at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter or humane society to honor her great love of animals. |
