Obituary: Rosalva Valencia passed away at a local hospital surrounded by her loving family on 18, 2015. She was 61. Rosalva Valencia was born to Juan Herrera and Socorro Solorio on 2, 1954 at Michoacán, Mexico. She has been a resident of this community for 38 years. She was a loving mother and a hard worker providing for her family in the raspberry agriculture as a laborer for about 15 years. Towards her last years she was a homemaker who loved to cook delicious meals for her family especially at family gatherings. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden and watching novelas (soap operas). She liked to dance and pamper herself by having manicures regularly; red fingernails were her favorite color. Rosalva Valencia is survived by her two daughters: Alma Valencia and Maribel Valencia and one son: Raul Valencia Jr. and 7 brothers: 3 sisters and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Raul Valencia, 20 years ago. Visitation will be held at Mehls Colonial Chapel on 24, 2015 from 5 to 9 pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Valley Catholic Church on 25th at 10 am with burial to follow at Valley Public . |

Obituary: Life History Rita Acosta Valencia, born 9th 1934 in Needles, CA Rita is the daughter of Jesus and Cecilia Acosta. Rita graduated from Needles Union High School in 1953. Immediately after high school she moved to San Bernardino, California. During this period in her life, she attended many social activities including ballroom dancing which she loved very much. She was fun loving. In her younger days, she had many boyfriends. This was because she always brought laughter and fun to any party. She was married on , 25th 1958 to Pete Valencia. She gave birth to 5 beautiful children - Patricia, David, Michael, Mark and Lawrence. She was a homemaker and stay at home Mom until 1977. Pete and Rita were active members of the Mexican American Golf Association. She was also a lifelong member of The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1744. From 1977 through 1990, she worked for the San Bernardino School District as she continued to raise her children. In 1991, she moved to San Clemente, CA and began working at the San Onofre Nuclear Plant. She left San Clemente in 1994. She also lived for a short period of time in San Antonio, Texas. She lived her remaining life in San Bernardino, CA. She was a volunteer for the City of San Bernardino Senior Companion Program from 2003 to present. She spent many hours helping people during their last days on earth. Her life was about being with family. She tried to make sure that everyone enjoyed themselves by making sure to plan every wonderful detail when throwing parties. She was strict with her children as she wanted them to achieve all of their dreams. She was known as a neat freak. In her later years, she became a teacher and mother to many. She always shared her knowledge of cooking, sewing, and planning parties. She was always available to listen to anyones heartbreaks, problems and accomplishments. Everyone entrusted her with their secrets. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had 11 Grandchildren - David II, Mark II, Christina, Lenora, Kristie, Katrina, Victor, Melissa, Vanessa, Monica and Brian. She also had 11 Great Grandchildren. Rita touched many hearts by showing kindness and love to everyone. This was evident by the amount of friends and family that enjoyed her company. |
