Obituary: Nubia Esperanza Ventura was born in El Algodon, which is a pueblo of Santa Rosa de Lima in El Salvador, on 10, 1948. She was the oldest of four siblings. Rafael, Marcelino, Rigoberto, and Celia Margarita Ventura. Her mother was Francisca Guzman and her father Brigido Ventura. She had four children, Rosie, Jorge, Carlos and Etelinda Lisseth. Our mother was raised in a God fearing, humble but loving home. Her simple beginnings made her the great person we all had the pleasure of knowing. The truth is, there is no way to describe the kind of person my mother was, whether I use a hundred words, or a million, I'll still come up short. She means something different to each and every one of us and the many people that she touched throughout her life. She was, first and foremost, a wonderful mother, the best friend anyone could ever wish for, a wonderful grandmother and a truly grand woman. She was there for everyone, and even right up to the end she was doing her best to help by giving us strength, advice and sparing us the details of her suffering and pain. She never, at any point in her life, worried or thought about herself. Always it was other people who came first, and she showed so much love and affection to so many people, it's hard to believe that one woman was capable of so much. She was there for everyone she knew, at all times, day or night, no matter what, and that's what made her such a special person. As a young girl my mother created bonds that lasted a lifetime. Today so many family and friends have reached out to us to express how much my mother meant to them because in one way or another they too were touched by her kindness and love. Whether it be helping in a time of need, helping a friend through personal problems, opening up her home and offering assistance and reassurance she did not complain or hesitated to offer a lending hand. Her thoughts were always about how to make things better for other people, and never how to take advantage of any situation for herself. One of the most important things in Moms life was gardening, and she took great pride in her flowers and plants. It takes patience and perseverance and a love for living things to grow a garden or a beautiful flower. Gardening is tedious and hard work, but there is something that my mom knew and experienced that others sometimes do not. There is a beauty and a satisfaction in seeing the result of our labor grow. There is a peacefulness that can come over us as we care for and nurture the flowers and plants in a garden. My mom saw her children and grandkids as flowers that needed nurturing and love to grow. My mother has faced many adversities throughout her lifetime. As a single mother of four little kids, she never flinched or swayed from what she had to do, or what she believed in. When she endured the loss of her son, although it's the most painful heartache a mother must overcome, she never lost her faith and she never stopped being a mother to the rest of her children. It was no surprise that when we received the news that she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer three years ago, and we broke down in despair our mother reassured us that she was full of faith and that God will be with us every step of the way. She never complained, never cursed God, and like Job she thanked the lord for his goodness and his mercy. She fought till the very end, the cancer took away all of her physical abilities but it did not touch her mind, it did not touch her heart and it did not touch her soul. We are honored, truly, to call such a wonderful lady my mother. She was our greatest example, our mother and father, our friend our hero. Obituary: Lena Ventura age 102, passed away peacefully in her sleep 21st,2016. She was born 3, 1913 in Bryan, Texas to the late Ross and Mary Salvaggio. Lena is preceded in death by her late husbands Nick Ventura and Lee Coussan and best friend Robert Matranga, sisters Josephine Fazzino and Mary Saladiner; brothers Charlie and Sam Salvaggio. She is survived by her loving family; son Frank Ross and Taska Ventura; daughter Mary Jo And Frank Dimicelli; granddaughter Elizabeth and Anthony Virgadamo; grandsons Frank Carl and Lori, Anthony and Kristina, Johnny and Sharon Dimicelli;13 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild on the way; numereous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Pallbearers; Frank Carl, Anthony and Johnny Dimicelli, Anthony Virgadamo, Christopher Virgadamo, Brandon Dimicelli,Jeremy Gilder and Ross Salvaggio. Honorary Pallbearers; Jake Russell, Sammy Dimicelli, Trey and Jeff Dimicelli, and Aaron Schindler.
