Obituary: Juan P. Vega, 91, passed away peacefully on , Feb. 19, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. Pio, as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Puerto Rico on Sept. 5, 1923 to Vicente Vega and Dolores Jimenez and proudly served in the United States Army for 22 years retiring as a Sergeant First Class in 1970. He served in WWII and the Korean War. He truly loved his family and had a great sense of humor which he passed on to his family. He always joked whenever he was asked how he was doing that he was sick, tired, and broke. He was not sick, tired, or broke, but that was Pio. We will miss him telling us that. Pio is survived by his caring and loving wife of 66 years, Brunilda (Nina) Vega; sons, Jaime Vega and his wife Jinny, Jorge Vega and his wife Sarah Thomas-Vega; grandchildren, Jennifer Sorrells, Cynthia Vega, Rebecca Yell, and Christopher Vega; great grandchildren, Franklin Sorrells III, Javier Mina-Vega, Sofia Mina-Vega, Katelyn Whatley, Dylan Bowman, and Juan Lucas Vega. He was preceded in death by his eldest son Juan Johnny Vega. In recognition of his service in the United States Army, Juan P. Vega will be laid to rest with military honors at Ft. Obituary: In the Loving Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to be found. Joe Lewis Vega, he was met in Our Heavenly Kingdom by his beloved Father Raymond Vega. On 11,2011 in Comfort Texas; Joe at the age of 43 was welcomed home in heaven, also preceding him in death are both Paternal Grandparents: Eusebio & Cruz Vega, and Maternal Grandmother: Concepcion Baeza. . He was born 23, 1967 here in Odessa to Raymond & Manuela Sosa Vega. He united in marriage to Lupe Gomez 16, 1988 here in Odessa and to this marriage were born 2 Beautiful Girls. He was a Christian Catholic and a hard working man; working in the hot shot business transporting oilfield products throughout the country. PAW as known to his family was a very Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Grandson. He was always full of energy, a prankster and a jokester to everyone who knew him, there was not a stranger that he met, that was not welcomed in his life. He was an avid Outdoors man who enjoyed the hill country scene, especially when it came to hunting and fishing, but nothing beats the utmost of love, pride and joy of spending it with his grandson Jayvyn. He is survived by Wife Lupe Gomez Vega of Odessa, Daughters: Chelsea Vega & Kayla Vega, Grandson: Jayvan Staats; Mother: Manuela S. Vega all of Odessa, Brother: Michael Vega ( Velma) of Midland, Texas, Sister: JoAnn Vega of Odessa, Maternal Grandfather: Ramon Baeza of Hamet, California, Maternal Grandmother: Maria Felix Sosa of Odessa. And a host of Aunts,.Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and Many Friends.
