Obituary: Plainview- Amada Amy Villarreal de Valdez, 68, of Plainview, passed away on , 17, 2015. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on , 20, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Reymundo Manriquez as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Plainview under the personal care of Lemons . A rosary will be recited night at 6:00 p.m. at Lemons . Amada was born 13, 1946 in Durango, Mexico to Pablo Villarreal and Maria de Los Angeles Tellez. She was a homemaker and made a loving home for her children. Amada loved to dance and sing. Her family describes her as a beautiful and happy person. She loved people and always had a blessing to share with those she knew and loved. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her mother, Maria De Los Angeles of Ciudad Juarez; two sons, Roberto Rodriguez of Ciudad Juarez and Jose Alfredo Milan of Plainview; five daughters, Maria Ramirez of El Paso, Ana Lilia Rodriguez and Leticia Villarreal, both of Ciudad Juarez, Yolanda Centeno of El Paso and Martha Castillo of Plainview; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Obituary: Alicia Valdez, age 83 of San Antonio passed away on , 2, 2010. One thing she prided herself in was the fact that she raised two boys in a military family. Alicia was always dedicated and enthusiastic supporting her sons through Cubs Scouts, Boy Scouts, Little League and Pop Warner football. In later years when she lived in Washington, D.C., she hosted wives of Ambassadors through the Christian Embassy getting them familiar with the ways of Washington, D.C. and being an Ambassador of Christ. Alicia hosted many Bible studies in her home for years and years, making lifelong friendships with people from all walks of life. She was always eager to go anywhere for a new adventure. Just a month ago her son, Izzy was visiting from Washington State and they together spent hours driving through the Hill Country enjoying the scenery. Alicia always enjoyed looking at the clouds and seeing different scenes in the clouds. She is survived by son, Israel Valdez, Jr. and wife, Trudy Frederick Valdez of Port Orchard, WA, son, David Valdez and wife, Sarah Jane Valdez of Annapolis, MD; grandson, Seth Frederick Valdez of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Reagan Borden Johnson of Port Orchard, WA; great-granddaughters, Rebecca and Emma Johnson, Kapree Ann Borden and great-grandson, Elijah Johnson of Port Orchard, WA; brothers-in-law, Guadalupe Valdez, Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX and Nicholas Valdez of Kingsville, TX and many nieces and nephews. Obituary: Henry Valdespino, 88, passed away peacefully at home on , 12, 2011, surrounded by his family. Mr. Valdespino was born in San Antonio, Texas on 13, 1923. He was a 1941 graduate of Brackenridge High School, where he played his favorite sport of football. In 1942 he became a post graduate of Peacock Military Academy. In the one short year he attended Peacock, he played basketball and varsity football, was promoted to Infantry Sergeant during his second semester and was Vice-President of his Graduating Class. He then went on to attend Southwest Texas State University for one semester, where he also played football. Val entered active duty in the U.S. Army in of 1943 to defend his country in World War II. He served with the 29th Infantry Regiment until he was transferred as a replacement into combat duty. He proudly served as a combat soldier in M , 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. During World War II, he served as a heavy machine gunner and lost his left arm to enemy artillery in Germany on 9, 1945. He was a decorated veteran who served in battles and campaigns in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He received numerous decorations and citations, including the Combat Infantry Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, three overseas bars, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Medal with four bronze service stars and the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged from service in of 1945. the war, Mr. Val earned his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1950. He went on to attend the evening division of St. Marys University Law School. During his attendance there, he served for one year as President of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He graduated in 1953. From then until 1958, he practiced law in the private sector. He worked for the Veterans Administration for the next four years, and in 1963, was appointed Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas by then Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy. He was licensed to practice in all Texas Courts, four U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He served for nineteen years before his retirement in 1982, under both Democratic and Republican administrations. Henry was a member of many professional, civic and church organizations, including the San Antonio Bar Association, the State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, St. Pauls Catholic Church Holy Name Society, Parish Council and School Board, Knights of Columbus, Ursuline Academy Advisory Board, Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) coach for little league boys and girls, Catholic Lawyers Guild and the San Antonio Archdiocesan School Board. He selflessly served Bexar Legal Aid for seventeen years doing pro bono work. Henry is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Rosalind Valdespino; his eight loving children, Jessica and husband, John Moussouris of Palo Alto, California, Sheila and husband, Doug Hodges, Rosalind Melissa, Yolanda and husband, Arnold Rodriguez, Henry Jr. and wife, Janice, Veronica Angelina, Loretta and husband, John Boland of South Salem, New York, Vanessa and husband, Jerry Villarreal; thirteen grandchildren; his brother, Joe and sister-in-law, Gloria and numerous nieces and nephews. For those who were blessed enough to know him, his fine moral character, unwavering integrity, loyalty, zest for life and patriotism will forever be remembered.
