Obituary: The Lord God Almighty called one of His sweetest children to His heavenly home on 9, 2015. Bogdana Maria Valdiviez, known to her friends as Ann & Annie, came into this world on 1, 1926, in Auschwitz, Poland, to Anton & Viktoria (née Golinski) Cwienkalla. Ann was never one to brag on herself, & she would blush at reading this obituary, but it is nevertheless all true. Her husband of 53 years, Cuahtemoc (known as Val & Copi), used to say that although he grew up in intense poverty as the son of a migrant worker in the Depression, he never realized what it really meant to be poor until he met Ann & heard her life story before they met in Germany in 1948 - grew up in small towns in SW Poland with starvation constantly at the door and sometimes no shoes to wear; taken by the Nazis in 1940 to work on farms to free up young German men for the Wehrmacht; returned to Poland & married a young man who was conscripted by the same Wehrmacht to fight & die on the Russian front; fled with her young child to the American sector in Germany as the Russians pushed west in 1945; and then worked 2-3 jobs every day to support her son Peter until she married Val in 1952. She & Peter followed Sergeant Val's US Air Force career around the world for the next 22 years, with each of their children born in the next four stations - Robert in Germany in 1952, Reina in South Carolina in 1953, Richard in California in 1958, & Ronald in Greece in 1959. Her tough early life prepared her for the stresses of constant moving, and even Val would have to concede that she was the glue that held the family together. Ann was a wonderful cook of Polish, German, and New Mexican food. Anne only had an 8th grade education, that's as far as poor Polish children could go at the time, but she became conversant in German & English. Her sewing, knitting, & crocheting skills were unsurpassable, as was her love for her family & ability to win at Air Force bingo. Her strength was also exhibited in 25+ years as a colorectal cancer survivor. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Val, in 2005 and grandson, Nathan in 1988. She is survived by all of her children, other grandchildren, & great grandchildren, & spouses - Peter & Arlene in Council Bluffs, IA (son Scott; grandson Austin); Bob & Faye in Albuquerque, NM (sons Adam & Matt; daughter Sarah; grandson Isaac); Reina aka Sue & Scott McMillin in Grandview, MO; Rich & Missie in Jefferson City, MO (daughters Jessica, Megan, Lindsay; granddaughter Carly); Ron in Rantoul, KS (son Dustin; daughters Heather & Hailey). Sue's siblings wish to thank her & Scott for the love and care they provided Ann during the last years of Anne's life. The whole family wishes to thank the many nurses, aides, and doctors that ministered to Ann's medical needs as well. Mount Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman at 10507 Holmes Road, will be the site for visitation from 6:00-8:00PM , 15 and funeral services at 10:30AM , 16. Burial is at Leavenworth National . Born on 26th, 1920, she was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. graduating from St. Margaret's School of she joined the Army Nurse Corps during World War II as a commissioned 2nd lieutenant. She graduated from K.U. Medical as a physical therapist, served on the Board of Directors for Swope Parkway , was a member League of United Latin American Citizens, and assistant director for Model Cities-Westside. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Bartola Guerra; husband, Salvador Valdivia; all but one of her six brothers and sister; and grandson, Gabriel Valdivia. She is survived by her children, Margaret M. Raya (John), James F. Valdivia (Victoria), Virginia E. Hernandez, Albert S. Valdivia (Alycee) and Frank A. Valdivia (Julie); brother, Jesus Guerra; twenty-two grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. her faith in Jesus Christ, family was her most precious possession. Obituary: Leonora Valdivia, 93, Kansas City, Mo., died 24, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. , Feb. 27, at Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2544 Madison. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary , KCK. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. , at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., where the rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Leonora was born 28, 1922, in Elgin, Texas, to Santos and Felicita (Lemos) Villalobos. In addition to raising 10 children, Leonora worked as the housekeeper for the residence at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and later at St. Mary's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Octavaiano, son, Tony Valdivia and two daughters, Teresa Terrazas and Amalia Ramirez. Leonora's survivors include her seven children, David Villalobos (Beatrice), Mary Flores (Joseph), Guadalupe Collier (Ward), Irene Fernandez, Carlos Valdivia (Marlena), Jesusa Gallegos (Vincent), Alexandria Valdivia (Tasha); Gina Hernandez (Daniel); son-in-law Rudy Ramirez; brother, Ray Villalobos and sister, Soccorro Flores; 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Obituary: CAROL (CONLEY) VALDIVIA Carol Ann Valdivia, 71, of Kansas City, passed away 12, 2017 in Kansas City, Kansas, surrounded by Family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Redemptorist Fathers - Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church , 16 at 9:30 am. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be at McGilley Midtown Chapel on , 15, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Redemptorist Parish, Little Sisters of the Poor, or Operation Discovery. Carol was born in Kansas City, Missouri, to Jack (John) and Bernice Conley on 24, 1946. She went to high school at Redemptorist High School. She went on to enjoy a 32 year career with St. Lukes Hospital. She enjoyed reading, crossword games, travel and spending time with her family. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Bernice Conley. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Felix of Kansas City; two brothers John and Michael Conley of Kansas City; three sons Robert (Melissa), Michael (Julie) and Patrick (Kimberly) all of Kansas City; four daughters Anna (Michael) Yost of Austin, Texas, Mary (Todd) Foley of Dubai, Elizabeth and Sarah Valdivia of Kansas City; twelve grandchildren Michael and Mya Yost, Alexandria and Joshua Foley, Sophia and Maclaryn Olson, Andrew, Jack, Henry, Josephine, Benjamin and Grace Valdivia.
