Obituary: Daniel Peter Veilleux, 65, of Waterville, ME, died 3, 2011 at Brigham and Womens Hospital following a short courageous battle with lymphoma. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born 25, 1946, in Waterville, ME to Fernand O. and Alfreda M. Veilleux. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1964. high school he attended the Franklin Institute in Boston, MA where he earned an Associates Degree in Civil Engineering. While in college, he married his high school sweetheart, Rachel Tremblay also of Waterville, ME. Following graduation they packed up the familys Volkswagen and headed for Virginia where he worked at Newport News Shipbuilding for a brief period of time. then re-packed the Volkswagen, this time with a newborn son, and returned to Maine. Upon returning to Waterville, Dan was employed by Scott Paper where he held various positions over a nearly 30 year career, culminating in the position of Procurement Manager. In 1997 he left Scott Paper (Kimberly Clark) and worked briefly for the Chinet . While at Scott Paper, he attended the University of Maine to complete his degree in Business Administration. Following retirement, he also performed consulting services for SAPPI and S. D. Warren. Throughout his life, Dan remained passionate about hockey. While growing up on Edgemont Avenue his family had a large outdoor hockey rink. This became a focal point for the neighborhood kids and fueled his lifelong passion for hockey. As a student, he played at Waterville High School and the Franklin Institute of Boston. Later, he played many years in an adult league at Kennebec and Sukee Arenas. He coached Elks Club youth hockey for over ten years and was an assistant coach at Waterville High School. And of course, he always enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Boston Bruins. Following retirement Dan became active in the community with the same passion and zeal he had invested in his career. He was very involved in the Catholic Community serving on the finance board of Corpus Christi Parish. He served on the board of directors for Seton Village from 2004-2010 where he was recognized for his ireless efforts and contributions. Until recently Dan also served as the Chairman of the School Board at St. Johns School in Winslow. A dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, his ultimate pastime was enjoying the company of his family. Whether it was spending time with his brothers Alan and Steven out to camp, completing a home remodeling project with his children, playing the guitar and singing to his grandchildren, or just being together, he cherished every moment he spent with his beloved family. Dan is preceded in death by his father Fernand O. and brothers David L. and Gene L. Veilleux. He is survived by the love of his life Rachel Veilleux (Tremblay); his son Anthony and his wife Kristen of Clayton, NC; his daughters Danielle and her husband Stephen Taber of Ashaway, RI, and Andrea and her husband Jason Kipp of Bowie, MD; mother Alfreda of Winslow, ME; brothers Leonard and his wife Ella of Clearwater, FL, Alan and his wife Susan of Winslow, ME, and Steven and his wife Sally of Belgrade, ME; his brother in-law Steven Tremblay of Cape Elizabeth, ME; five grandchildren, Allyson and Zachary Veilleux and Grace, Jackson, and Lidia Taber; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Compassionate, honorable, and devoted, he will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and the greater community. |

Obituary: Lewiston - Bibiane DeBlois Veilleux, 81, passed away 1, 2014 at St. Mary's d'Youville Pavilion with her family by her side. Our loving mom was born in St. Marguerite P.Q. Canada 29, 1932 a daughter of Edmond & Marie Anna Asselin DeBlois, she grew up on a farm in a large family and received her education in Canadian schools. She taught in a one-room schoolhouse before her marriage in 1952 to Wallace N. Veilleux Sr. Together they made their home on Old State Road in Greene and raised their 7 children. She returned to school as a mother of 7 still young children and graduated as most likely to succeed from Bernard's Beauty School of Hair Fashion in Lewiston. She worked as a hairdresser for 40 years operating her own beauty salon in her home and later also at the Auburn Esplanade until she retired in 2009. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and her clients and was a true friend to each one. Mom was an active member of St. Francis Church in Greene for 30 years, singing in the choir and serving as Eucharistic Minister. She attained dual citizenship in 1987 and loved both countries. She always cherished her French Canadian heritage. Her life was especially focused on her family. She treasured family gatherings and made all our times together truly special. Our mom will be remembered for her loving and generous nature and particularly for her joie de vivre. She had a passion for so many things. She loved singing and dancing, gardening, reading, painting, and knitting. She enjoyed going out to eat and shopping. She also enjoyed collecting beautiful items like teapots, handbags, notebooks, shoes and dolls. She liked wearing hats and had a great pride in her hat collection. Mom is survived by her 7 children, Michael Veilleux and Sheryl of Brunswick, Lina Joyner of Greene, Wallace Veilleux Jr. and Cynthia of Greene, Christine Marcous and John of Turner, Marianne Hutchinson and Dennis of Lewiston, Monique Morin and Gary of Lewiston, Irene Morin and Steve of Turner, 12 grandchildren, Vanessa, Luke, Christopher, Melissa, Nathan, Matthew, John, Levi, Andrew, Griffin, Chad and Chloe and 2 great-grandchildren, Damon and Jade. She leaves behind 4 sisters, Aline, Muriella, Marielle, Elise, and 5 brothers, Edgar, Edmond, Wilfrid, Andre, and Alexandre DeBlois. Amy is predeceased by her father Gary Cole, grandmothers Josephine Peters and Azalea Cole, her brothers-in-law, Gerald (Peter) Veilleux, Colby Rockwell and her sister-in-law Linda Rockwell. Amy is lovingly remembered by her soul mate and devoted husband Jeff of 26 years, her son Dustin and wife Samantha with grandchild Clayton, son Drew and grandsons Carson and Marshall; mother Donna Cole-Rose and husband David; sister Wood and husband Scott; sister Annmarie Cole and Richard Knight; along with mother-in-law, Juliette Veilleux, several brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Amy was born in Gardiner, Maine on 12, 1967. She graduated from Oak Hill High School and continued on to receive an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Eastern Maine Community . Amy started her working career at Coles Lunch, a family owned business. Over time Amy had various careers, including one as an administrative clerk, within a design division at Bath Iron Works. Amy then spent sixteen years owning and operating Mrs. Vs Busy Tree Daycare and most recently she worked as a salesclerk at Josephs Sporting Goods. Amy enjoyed being with family and friends, reading, and supporting the for Little Wanderers. She was involved in the Winslow Elementary School PTO, Catholic Charities of Maine, and Blessings in a Backpack Program.
