Obituary: Joseph Daniel “J.D.” Vinson, Jr. of New Orleans, LA. died on , 9, 2015 in the company of his family at his residence of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was 63. Beloved husband of Mary Ellen Elstrott Vinson. Father of Christine Maria Vinson, Joseph Daniel Vinson, III (wife Allyson Hebert Vinson). Grandfather to Madison Hayley Vinson. Brother of Kathleen Vinson Harrison, Maria Vinson Landry, and Jimmy Vinson. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Daniel Vinson, Sr.; his mother, Dorothy Garcia Vinson; and his sister, Jo Ann Vinson Cambre. J.D. was a resident of New Orleans and Metairie. In 1969, he began his career with New Orleans-based Vinson Guard Service, which was founded by his father in 1963 and is now one of the largest privately owned security companies in the Southeast United States. J.D. served as President and Chairman of the Board of the World Association of Detectives, Inc. representing more than 85 countries. J.D. was awarded the Security Professional of the Year and Norman J. Sloan Memorial Award by the World Association of Detectives for his meritorious service to the security industry. Mr. Vinson was a past board member of Leukemia Society of America and President’s Club, a board member of Christian Brothers Foundation, Harahan Horseshoe League, and Metairie YMCA Y-Guys. He also supported charities through his company by donating services to New Orleans Children’s Hospital, Mt. Carmel Academy, CrimeStoppersGNO, Destrehan Plantation, and Notre Dame Seminary. J.D. enjoyed being outdoors with his friends and family. He was an avid fisherman (son, Joe, is now a charter captain), and enjoyed running road races (daughter, Christine, has completed several marathons). Obituary: A much beloved Angel of Earth has departed to join the Angels in Heaven. Audrey Mae Capone Vinson, a woman of faith, a devoted wife and loving mother was born on 18, 1934 and passed from this life at the age of 83 on 19, 2017. She was married on 14, 1954 to her life-long partner of 47 years, Frank Charles Vinson who passed away on 29, 2001. Both were long-time residents of Lake Charles, LA. She was the daughter of Joseph Capone Sr. of Donaldsonville, LA and Ruth Louise Fontenelle of Pointe-ala-Hache, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Joseph Capone Jr., Lawrence Capone Sr. and Michael Capone. Her surviving sibling is her sister, Ruth Beshel. Audrey is survived by five children; Frankie-Jo Mary Vinson Gray and husband, Bill, Carol Ann Vinson Snyder and husband, William, Ellen Ruth Vinson Harkins and husband, Brian, Charles Allen Vinson and wife, Ann, and Dan Patrick Vinson. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Grandchildren include Stephen Gray, Erin Grace, Travis Gray, Julia Snyder, Michael Harkins, Erica Harkins, Jessica Harkins, Rebecca Harkins, Ryan Vinson and Trey Valentine. Great grandchildren are Jenna Gray, William Gray, Charlie Grace, Marlowe Grace, Alina Gray, Ciera Hearn-Gray, Ella Rose Harkins, Evie Harkins, Alexander Harkins and Ryder Vinson. During Audreys early years while residing in Pointe-ala-Hache LA, she served as Deputy Clerk of Court for Plaquemines Parish and was an organist at St. Thomas Catholic Church. moving to Lake Charles LA with her husband and family, she became a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and joined both the Church and Jubilate Choirs in addition to participating in the Marion Movement for Priest. It was here that Audrey and her family became acquainted with Monsignor Irving A. Deblanc, who grew to be a life-long friend and spiritual inspiration to the entire family. She was devoted to the Pro-Life Rosary prayer service and for 25 years participated in Hourly Adoration, both while a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Heaven. She was a 30 plus year member of the Catholic Daughters of America, had served as Chairman of the Christian Womens Club, and was a member of the Petroleum Wives Club, the Red Hat Society and the USA Council of Serra International Club. Friends of this remarkable woman are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her life by attending a pre-funeral visitation on , 22, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Scripture Service at 6:00 pm and Rosary at 6:30 pm at J.E. Obituary: Lindy McGill Vinning, a native of Claysville, PA and a longtime resident of Patterson, passed away at the age of 69 on , 21, 2016, at her brothers home in Patterson following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on 2, 1946 to the late Joseph Albert McGill and the late Mary Belle Causey Malzahn. Lindy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who had a wonderful sense of humor and was well loved by all who met her. Some of her favorite pastimes were bowling, cooking, reading, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, and tending to her flower garden. Her passion in life though was her family who she simply adored and cherished spending time with. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all. Survivors include her loving companion, Joe Prejean; her sons, Austin Vinning, Kevin Vinning and his wife Chauncey, Kirt Vinning and his wife Alida, and Michael Vinning and his wife Stacie; her siblings, James McGill, Kenneth McGill, Bill McGill and his wife Brenda; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis C. Vinning. Obituary: Carol Vinning of Patterson, LA passed away morning in the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge. He spent his last days with his extensive, loving family. Born in Patterson on 18, 1935, he lived his life there. An Army veteran and one of the hardest working men anyone knew, he belonged to the Knights of Columbus, served on the Kemper Williams Park Advisory Committee, Patterson Cypress Saw Mill Museum, and was Scoutmaster to Pack 339 and Troop 41. He received the Bronze Pelican and Silver Beaver Awards and Citizen of the Year by the American Legion, to name a few of his many accolades. Working for Williams, Inc. and St. Mary Parish, he knew and loved the land, waters, and people of south Louisiana. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, fishing and community activities. Those lucky enough to encounter him knew him to be fair, honest, quick to laugh and ready to share a childhood story of the swamps in which he grew up. He will be missed by many. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Alene Tuffy Rushing Vinning; his children, Joette V. Michel and her husband Jon, C. Lance Vinning and his wife Cindy, Carla V. Griffin and her fiancé Scott Rundell, and Crystal V. Eldringhoff and her husband Tom; his siblings, Emma Lee Belanger, Jerry Vinning, Gwen Gill, and Beth Hammond; eight grandchildren, Heather M. Bergeron, Jennifer Michel, Joey Vinning, Caroline Vinning, Lauren G. Brown, Ryan Griffin, Ashley E. Barber, and Rebecca Eldringhoff; two great grandchildren, Kelsey Michel and Theodore Barber; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Corbett Vinning and Ella Landry Vinning; and his son-in-law, Brent Griffin. services will be held , 15, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during an 11:00 a.m. memorial Mass of Christian burial. Obituary: services celebrating the life of Shirley Mae Barrilleaux Vining will be held , 2, 2014, at 1:00 PM at Central Baptist Church in Patterson. She will be laid to rest in the Gibson Baptist Mission Church in Gibson. Pastor Caleb Silvertooth will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Mrs. Vining was a native of Morgan City and a resident of Franklin for the past 25 years, who passed away at the age of 69 on , 28, 2014, at her home. Survivors include one daughter, Janet Space and her husband Terry of Patterson; two sons, Alvin Vining Jr. and his wife Pam of Bayou Vista and Dennis Vining and his wife Tammy of Bayou Vista; three sisters, Elizabeth Gussman and her husband Robert of Morgan City, Anna Ribardi and her husband Dominic of Berwick, and Dale Crappell and her husband Billy of Bayou Visa; one brother, Larry Barrilleaux of Berwick; eight grandchildren, Rockey, Jonathan, Brandon, Ashley, Jacob, Ciarra, Brent,and Chase; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Vining; one son, Eric James Vining; her parents, Jefferson and Lucille Barrilleaux; four brothers, Richard, Michael, Harold, and David; one sister, Gertrude; and two grandchildren, Misty and Leo Space.
