Obituary: John J. Vezzoso, 87, passed away, , 7, 2011, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation , where he had been a resident. John was of Lutheran faith and attended Emanuel Lutheran Church of Evansville. He was born May 13, 1924, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of John E. and Julia (Eastman) Vezzoso. He was raised in Minneapolis by his father and stepmother, Cecelia Marie (Nana). At the age of 12 the family moved to Central Valley, CA. Preceding John in death were his father, John E.; mother, Julia, stepmother, Cecelia; first wife, Una (Whitmire); second wife, Billie (Cornils); brother, Joseph J.; sisters, Dorothy McCormick and Marion Whiting; and stepson, Dr. Thomas C. Cornils. Surviving John are sons, John J. Jr. and wife, Lila, of Nampa, ID, Gary M. and wife, Carol L., of Middleton, ID and Bill and wife, Kim, of Carbondale, CO; daughter, Debbie Aud of Oklahoma City, OK; stepson, Dr. William P. Cornils and wife, Rhonda, of Hagerstown, IN; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving both in Africa and in India as a medic in the Army Air Corps.
