Obituary: Our Beloved Mother Eloisa Martinez Urias, 99 years old, passed away peacefully in her home on , May 6, 2015 with her family by her side. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends. She was military wife, a homemaker and a caretaker to her extended family. Eloisa was born on 11, 1915 in Austin, Texas to Pete and Guadalupe Martinez, which she is preceded in death with. She is also preceded in death with her loving husband of 75 years PFC Domingo C. Urias Sr. WWII. Veteran, her daughter Eloise Reyes, her grandson Alfred Ramos Jr., brother Cleto Martinez and sisters Clara Hipolito, Ninfa Martinez and Della Romero. She is survived with her four children, Beatrice, Elizabeth, Lupe and only son Domingo Jr. She has many generations of family: 23 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 32 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild. Obituary: Born 1, 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated with honors from Forest Park High School in 1941. He entered the Co-operative Plan of Education at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1941 and worked at the Glenn L. Martin building B-26s. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was called to Active Duty in 1943. On 15, 1944 he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. and received his pilot wings at Pampa Army Air Base, Pampa, TX. He completed B-26 transition training at Dodge City Army Base, Dodge City, Kansas and subsequently was assigned a combat crew at Barksdale Army Air Base, Shreveport, LA. flying a B-26 to England via Puerto Rico, Brazil, Ascension Island, The Gold Coast, Dakar and Marraketch, he joined the 454th Bomb Squadron, Ninth Air Force in 1944. He completed 15 combat missions. He served in the Army of Occupation and returned to Georgia Tech in 1947. He served in the Georgia Air National Guard where he flew P-47 aircraft. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1949. In 1951 he was called to Active Duty and flew 54 night interdiction missions in Korea with the 8th Squadron, Third Bomb Group, 5th Air Force. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1952, he was assigned to the Weapons Guidance Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio as a Project Engineer. While there he attended Oklahoma State University and received a Masters of Mechanical Engineering Degree. In 1956, he was commissioned a Captain in the United States Air Force; and in 1959, he married Dorothy Schisler. In 1960 he was assigned as the Flight Test Engineer on the YF-12, part of the YF-12/SR-71 Test Program at Edwards AFB, California. That same year he qualified to fly Jet aircraft at Randolph Air Force Base, TX. In 1967 he attended the Industrial of the Armed Forces, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C. where he was promoted to Colonel. Upon graduation in 1968 he became the Program Manager for the USAF/ F/RF-4 Phantom Program where he served four years in Washington, D.C. In 1972, he was assigned to the Air Force Plant Office in St. Louis, MO. In 1974, he was transferred to the Defense Contract Administration Services Region, Dallas, TX. Upon being assigned to Dallas he joined Flight 232 of the Daedalians in Order of Military Pilots. He was also a member of the Military Order of World Wars. On 31, 1976, he retired after 32 years of service. He was active in St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX where he served as an Elder and a Trustee while being in charge of building maintenance and yard work. He served as Head Usher at St. Barnabas for 25 years. He served as Chairman of the Building Committee that built the new Sanctuary and Parking Lot. He coached football, baseball and basketball in the Spring Valley Athletic Assoc. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughter and son-in-law Michele & Jim Tedrick, daughter Dianne and her partner Carolyn Richards and a son and daughter-in-law Bradford and Maribel Urey. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on , 12, 2014 at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 West Beltline Rd., Richardson, TX. Burial will be 12:15 at Dallas/Fort Worth National , 2000 Mountain Creek Rd., Dallas, TX. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm , 11, 2014 at Sparkman/Hillcrest , Dallas, TX.
