Obituary: Robert J. Underwood (Bob) of Lakeway, TX, passed peacefully on Sept. 6, 2014, at Christopher House in Austin, TX. His wife of 50 years, Patsy, son, Randy of Lakeway, and daughter, Amy of Grand Prairie, were by his side. Complications from liver failure took him too soon. His eventful and happy life began on Oct. 23, 1937. He was the last of 8 children born to Vernice Edna and John Washington Underwood. He will be greeted in heaven by both parents, 3 brothers, 4 sisters as well as 2 nephews, 2 nieces, and many friends. He was graduated from Carter Riverside HS in Ft. Worth and was a proud alumnus of Texas A&M University where he earned a BS degree in architectural construction. graduation from Texas A&M, he took a commission in the US Army as a lieutenant. He was active duty in the US Army from 1961 to 1963. He served proudly and was promoted to captain before resigning to serve in the reserves until 1969. In 1963 he met Patsy Chenault of Ft. Worth. were married on 10, 1964. moved to Dallas where he worked as a young engineer for Bridge Builders, Inc. have 2 children, Randal David and Amy Suzanne. In 1976 he took his family to Saudi Arabia where he was employed to supervise the construction of a railroad bridge near Dhahran. During their 2 years in Saudi Arabia, the family had great adventures traveling to many countries. Upon their return to the US, Bob resumed employment with Bridge Builders. He continued to advance in his career as an engineer and estimator and retired as a VP of Estimating at JD Abrams in Austin, TX. retirement he volunteered for the City of Lakeway for various civic and community events. He also used his knowledge and skills to assist in the construction of bridges and structures for Lakeway Parks and Recreation. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his golfing buddies. He attended Lakeway Church and was a member of the Aggie Club of Lakeway. He was beloved and admired by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held on , Sept. 11, 2014, at 1:00 pm in Lakeway, TX, at Weed-Corley-Fish , 411 Ranch Road 620 S. A viewing will precede the service from noon to 1:00 pm. An additional viewing will be held on , 15, 2014, from 11:30-12:30 in Dallas, TX, at Jeter & Son , 4811 W. Illinois. This viewing will be followed by an interment ceremony at 1:15 pm at DFW National , 2000 Mtn. Creek Pkwy. |

Obituary: Amos Fred Underwood, 56, died peacefully on , 1st, 2014 in Round Rock, TX. He was born on May 6, 1958 in Memphis, TN to the late Amos French Sr. and Mary Underwood. On 17, 1988 he married Demetra Adams, and they are still presently married for a total of 26 years. Amos dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. Amos entered active duty to the US Army on 10/24/1978 he was released from service with an Honorable discharge on 10/23/1981. Amos was employed as a Bus operator at Capitol Metro for 29 years, and was particularly known for his hot shot on the pool table in the break room, being a very dedicated employee and winning several championships at the bus rodeos. He enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons and going to church on mornings. Amos is survived by his loving wife, Demetra Underwood; his oldest daughter, Alyse Underwood, daughter, Ashley Underwood, and his only son, Amos Underwood. He also leaves behind three brothers, Amos II, Michael, and Lenard and four sisters, Gloria, Carolyn, Louise and Brenda. God blessed Amos with two grandsons, Ashton and Mathis. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of relatives and friends. There will be a visitation held on , 7, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with funeral services following on , 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Cook Walden/Capital Parks located at 14501 N IH 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
