Obituary: Born on 22, 1932, in Tulsa, Oklahoma in a Nazarene parsonage to Leo C. Upton and Rhoda Brown Upton. He departed this life on 12, 2011, in Sulphur, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife Helen Godwin Upton, his son, Paul Allan Upton and wife, Stella LeDoux Upton, his daughter, Renee Price and husband, William (Bill) Price. His grandchildren, Jessica Balderas and husband, Jose, Eric Upton and wife, Leah LeFevre Upton, Liana Upton and Adam Price. His great grandchildren, Jenna Balderas and Joel Upton. His sisters, Rhoda Wilkins Nevenner and Nancy Harger and husband, Charles. His nephew, Stuart Wilkins, and nieces, Rachel Harger and Charla Harger Berry. Leo Upton graduated high school from Apostolic in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received his Doctor of Divinity from Biblical Apostolic University in Lancaster, TX. He was ordained as a minister in the United Pentecostal Church International in 1953. He served as a sectional youth director in the UPCI Texas District. He is a member of the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ and has served as a Louisiana Superintendent and National Missions Director. He is a member of the Worldwide Pentecostal Fellowship. Leo Upton followed in his fathers footsteps of preaching. He began his preaching ministry at the age of 16 years old. He began evangelizing at 18 years old and has since held several hundred revivals, has assisted various pastors, and established several churches. He pastored in Sioux Falls, SD, Huntington, TX, Arlington, TX, Houston, TX, and Sulphur, LA. He did missions work in Mexico, Chili, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Brazil, Nigeria, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Ireland, Wales, and the United Kingdom. He arrived to accept the pastorate of Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse, now Lighthouse Tabernacle, in , 1972. He served as pastor for twenty-six years and then was ordained as Bishop in 1998 and served in that capacity until his death. During those years of service he saw two sanctuaries and a Family Life built. Approximately fifteen ministers from Lighthouse Tabernacle have gone on to establish their own ministry. Two daughter churches were established through his ministry. He was a member of the American Biographical Institute and was honored for outstanding professional and public service. He was honored in Whos Who of America. He was honored by the State of Louisiana: Colonel of Staff and as Aide-de-Camp, Executive Department. He was an accomplished musician playing the piano, trumpet, guitar, accordion, and organ. He began singing in church services as a young child. He used his beautiful voice and musical ability to minister to others for many, many years. His songs of praise and words of instruction and encouragement have ministered to people around the world and will be greatly missed. Services will be 7 p.m. , 14, 2011 at Lighthouse Tabernacle in Sulphur. Visitation will be at the church evening from 6-9 p.m. and 10 a.m. til time of service. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South. Obituary: James Patric Upton was called home to be with the Lord and his son Timothy M. Upton on , 28, 2011 at the age of 58. Beloved husband to Debria L. Upton and cherished son of Patricia Upton Kersteter. He was a devoted and proud father of Thomas G. Upton, PHD and James Philip Upton and grandfather to Sara and Savanna Upton. Patric was a 1971 graduate of Pascagoula High School, Pascagoula, MS and 1978 graduate of Baptist Seminary of New Orleans, LA. While attending Mobile of Mobile, AL in 1970, he met his wife Debria. He was a devoted minister, school teacher and geo-analyst and also served for the United States Naval Reserves in Special Intelligence. Patric is preceded in death by his son Timothy Upton, two brothers Kenneth Allen and Thomas Joseph Carlson, and grandparents Grady and Mabel Upton. Survivors include his wife, Debria Upton of La Place, LA, two sons, Dr. Thomas Upton (Goldie) of Huntington Beach, CA, Philip Upton (Erin) of Metairie, LA, mother, Patricia Kersteter (Kirk) and sister Tanya Carlson-Shepherd (Daniel) of Gautier, MS, and brother Randy Carlson (Pam) of Houston, TX, granddaughters Sara and Savanna Upton; nieces Jennifer and Skylar Carlson, Dawn Van Horn; nephews Corbin and Logan Carlson. Obituary: Services for Lennie Haddox Upshaw, 99, will be held at 11:00 a.m., , 12, 2014, at Centuries Memorial in Shreveport. Officiating will be Mrs. Upshaws nephew, Dr. Connie Ward, of Ruston, Louisiana. The family will be receiving visitors at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, Louisiana. Lennie was born on 17, 1915, in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana, and passed away on 9, 2014. Lennie was a very talented seamstress and tailor and retired from Popes at the age of 75. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and a former long time member of Highland Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and always prepared fabulous lunches for her family that were fit for kings. Lennie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents William Sebron Haddox and Louana Haddox; her husband of 57 years, Ray Benoyd Upshaw; 4 sisters, Viola Fisher, Josie Casdorph, Edeline Bass, and Lydia Roddy; and 2 brothers, Clayton Haddox and Elijah Haddox. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Sanders & husband Ed, of Keithville, LA., Barbara Chambless & husband Jack of Shreveport, LA; one granddaughter, Tiffany Chambless Ristroph & husband Kevin, of The Woodlands, TX; two great-grandaughters, Caroline Elizabeth Ristroph and Mary Claire Ristroph; one brother, Frank Haddox and wife Elizabeth, of Slaughter, LA, and many nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Sanders, Jack Chambless, Jr., Kevin Ristroph, Billy Fisher, Raymond Fisher and Kinny Haddox. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Seborn Woods for his compassion, care, and friendship for over 40 years.
