Obituary: Jean Frances Thompson Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away , May 4th 2015 at the age of 92. She was born 6th, 1923 in Spokane, WA to Eugene and Lydia (Wolsborn) Parsons. She had one sister, Parsons. She graduated from North Central HS in 1941. Jean worked as a book keeper for Kaiser Aluminum, and The Crescent. Her lifetime career was home maker and mother. Mom enjoyed many hobbies, working in her yard, quilting, sewing, painting, crafting, and above all else, dancing. Throughout her life she was a member of the Washington State Quilters, Scrapbaggers, Sons of Norway, Scandia, Corbin Senior , Browne Elementary PTSA, The BOF, The Red Hats, and a long time member and performer with the Hillyard Belles. She was both a Boy Scout Den mother and a Camp Fire Leader and volunteer. Jean is preceded in death by her husband Lyle Thompson. She is survived by her son, Michael (Robin) Thompson; daughter, Julie (Dave) Huotari; four grandchildren, Chris (Cheryl) Thompson, Matt Thompson, Jordan (Bonnie Kate) Huotari and Leah Huotari; two great grandchildren, Jaden and Shaela Thompson. A visitation will begin on May 16, 2015 at 12:00 noon, with a service to follow celebrating Jeans life at 1:30 pm at Ball & Dodd Spokane, WA. Private interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane (www.hospiceofspokane.org) and Camp Fire USA, Inland NW Chapter(www.campfireinc.org) |

Obituary: Jean Lee Thompson (born Radosovich), Jean was the only child of Emerick & Gladys (Bacon) Radosovich born in Seattle, Washington 3, 1935. She was raised in the Wallingford district of Seattle near the University of Washington and lived in that area for most of her life. She attended the Bush School for Girls (at Parkside), Lincoln High School briefly and graduated from Ballard High School in 1953. As a youth she attended University Christian Church and during revival meetings of brother Ralph Sanders was baptized at age 15. Later she was very active in different Bible studies and Womens Aglow Fellowship. As a teenager, Jean excelled on the swim team and was asked to model swimwear for Jansen swimsuits. She had 3 children, Judith Lee, Bruce Emerick, & Jannelle Lynn. Bruce died in infancy. Jean worked as a first grade teacher at Greenlake Christian school when her children were young. She went on to work at various positions at the University of Washington. included the Sciences printing services, Harborview Medical , UW Sciences Library and the UW Law school. Jean loved music! She had piano lessons early on, but found her passion with guitar and singing. She was a regular performer at Folk Life as well as in various venues around Seattle singing and playing guitar with her bands, Jean Jacquette and the Men in Denim and Jean Jacquette and the Blue Threads. produced several CDs with original songs written by Jean. Her home in Wallingford became a popular spot for band practices and many impromptu jam sessions. She enjoyed going to concerts and was able to see some of her favorite musicians and bands in person over the years, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elvis and many times Willie Nelson. Jean loved to travel. Some of her favorite trips included visiting Graceland, Mexico and Florida. She loved animals, especially dogs and gave several chihuahuas a special place in her life over the years. While raising her family Jean spent many years as the caregiver for her mother, Gladys, until her death in 1984. Jean was an avid reader and passed her love of books and reading on to many members of her growing family. Jean often commented on how nice it was to have such a large family and how she enjoyed being around all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years, Jean lived at Kirkland Lodge and then at Lifecare of Kirkland. She is survived by her daughters & their spouses, Judith & Roland Haight and Jannelle Thompson & Dr. Thomas Burbacher as well as her 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn (& husband) John Murphy, William Nolan Johnstone, Emily Jean Johnstone, & Taylor Nicole Radosovich Burbacher; and 3 great-grandchildren, Natalie Mae Murphy, Agatha Mary Murphy & Victoria Lynn Murphy. Jeans family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Lifecare of Kirkland and Evergreen Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days. Our family would also like to thank Jeans friend from childhood Kay Wood, Jay (Bluejay) Bradley and her many musical friends that brought so much joy to her life and comfort in her final days. She was the Matriarch of our family, a free spirit and unique person. A loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend. She was deeply loved by our family and will forever be remembered in our hearts.
