Obituary: Thomas L. Tanner, 65, of King George passed away 11, 2017. LCDR Tanner retired from the U.S. Navy, was a defense contractor, teacher, musician, and a family man of great faith. A long- time member of Peace Lutheran Church, he played guitar and led music for the contemporary service and sang in the choir. A man of many interests, Toms real love was for his beloved wife and children. He is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Rowene Tanner. He is survived by his wife Connie Silverthorne Tanner; children Erin, Gil, Ray Celeste, Anna Elizabeth; sister Susan Latourelle (Ken); many nieces and nephews and his faithful dog, Cali. A visitation will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in King George on , 17, from 6-7pm. A memorial service will be , 18 at the same location at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.storkefuneralhome.com. Obituary: Rosemarie B. Tanner, 81, of Stuarts Draft, was peacefully called by our Lord, , 23, 2015. She is now free of suffering and was welcomed in heaven by her parents, Max and Fannie Bernet, her brother, Georg Bernet, her aunt, Claire Tanti Bernet, and uncle, Eddie Pop Bernet; who supported her to immigrate to this country, at the tender age of 16. She was born 10, 1933 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Rosemarie will be remembered for her positive attitude and appreciation of all. She was a nationally known porcelain artist, who was in charge of many clubs and volunteered for multiple organizations. Rosemarie is survived and will be missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Hanspeter Jack; daughters, Elizabeth Tanner of Torrington, CT, Heidi Kittrell and husband, Jim of Greenville, NC; sons, Martin Tanner of Staunton, VA and Paul Tanner and his wife, Jennifer of Mansfield, CT; four grandchildren, Ryan Tanner, Jack Kittrell, David Kittrell, and Jim Kittrell ; sisters, Rita Pfister and her husband, Hugo of Gossau Switzerland, Beatrice Mäeder of Flawil, Switzerland, and Elisabeth Haldimann of Maersteten, Switzerland. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. , 26, 2015 at Rosemaries church, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 S. Wayne Ave. , Waynesboro, VA, with Pastor, Paul Pingel officiating. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the physicians, nurses, and support personal, of Hospice of the Shenandoah , especially, Pam Matthews. Thank you to all of Rosemaries friends for looking out for her and help assisting in her over all well-being. A special thank you, to the ladies of the Newcomers Club, who arranged driving of Rosemarie to all of her appointments. Obituary: Robert E. Bob Tanner, 86, of Windmill Lane, Stuarts Draft, died , 29, 2016 at his residence. He was born 21, 1930 in New Haven, Connecticut, a son of the late Thomas F. and Edith Totz Tanner. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Bell Atlantic after 34 years of service. Bob served as Sergeant at Arms with the Hampton-Newport News Rotary Club from 1983-1984 and was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hermie Tillman Tanner; brother, Thomas W. Tanner, sister, Helen McCready; and special friends, Mabel E. Arehart. Survivors include a sister, Allene Rhone of Farmington, Connecticut; nephew, Thomas Tanner of New York. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., , May 4, 2016 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft with Rev. Charles Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Wymer, Clarence Wilkins, Allen deGuzman, Ruffner Patterson, Danetta Hartman and Taysha Patterson.
