Obituary: Ralph Alvin Taylor 1921-2011 Ralph Alvin Taylor, age 89, passed away on May 5, 2011. He was born on 6, 1921 in Mendon Utah to Oliver and Ethel Taylor. He attended school in Cache Valley. He served an LDS mission to the Western States where he met and fell in love with a sister missionary, Marcia Checketts. Upon their return home they were married in the Logan Temple. Ralph was called to serve in the Marine Corp, during WWII, three months after their marriage. Upon returning from the war they lived in Salt Lake City, Magna, and Hunter. During retirement they lived in Mesa, AZ and St. George, UT. The last 3 years of his life were spent living with his daughter Rozana and son-in-law Gary in South Jordan. Ralph was a faithful member of the LDS Church his entire life. Ralph worked for Kennecott Copper as a security guard for over 32 years retiring in 1983. He was a good athlete and especially enjoyed basketball. As a skilled carpenter he built new homes from start to finish and after retirement he enjoyed building custom furniture for his family. Horses were his hobby. He raised, bred, trained and showed American Registered Paint horses for many years. He also served on the Days of 47 Rodeo Committee for over 25 years. Ralph had an amazing sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family. Ralph is survived by his 5 children: Linda Taylor, St. George, Susanna (Lee) Jones, St. George, Larry (Barbara) Taylor, South Jordan, Roger (Pam) Taylor, Geyserville, CA and Rozana (Gary) Wilkey, South Jordan; 12 Grandchildren, 21 1/4 Great Grandchildren and his Twin brother, Ray Taylor. He was preceded in death by his wife Marcia, a sister, two brothers and a grandson. Services will held May 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at Valley View , 4335 West 4100 South. Obituary: Paul Fred Taylor 13, 1924 - 14, 2010 Paul Fred Taylor, surrounded by his loving family, was called home due to complications from a sudden illness. He was born in Salt Lake City to Fred and Ethel Taylor. He graduated from South High in 1942. In 1948 he married his sweetheart, Beth Black. moved to Idaho Falls where he and Beth had six of their seven children. In 1956 the family was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. returned to Salt Lake City in 1959 where their last daughter was born. Pauls entire career was spent working in the automobile industry. While living in Idaho he opened the Avis franchises in Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. In 1959 he returned to Salt Lake City where he managed the National Car Rental franchise for 18 years. One of the highlights of his career was being The Chairman of National Car Rentals Policy Advisory Committee. In 1977 he formed a partnership to purchase Budget Rent-a-Car in Salt Lake City. He was proceeded in death by his first son, Gregory Paul, who died at the age of 3 ½. He was also proceeded by his father, Harry Fred Taylor, mother Ethel Braby Taylor and his brother Harold Ray Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Beth Black Taylor, children Leslie (Greg) Kesten, Mike Taylor, Joy (Craig) Rinker, Jim (Cheri) Taylor, Dave (Stacey) Taylor and Suzanne Taylor. He was adored by his 17 grandchildren and his 15 great grandchildren. Paul had a beautiful bass voice and sang with the Utah Symphony Chorus and many Ward choirs. His family benefited greatly from his example of honesty, integrity and his strong work ethic. One of his lifelong passions was his love for golf and for those great friends he shared it with. Obituary: Elk Ridge- Patricia Mae Taylor passed away peacefully at 7:13 A.M. , 30, 2009 at her home in Elk Ridge, Utah. She was born 7 Feb, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to Roy Oller and Hazel Delia Hardin and is the fourth of 14 children. Her surviving siblings include Barbara, Judy, Allen, Phillip, Ronnie, Marsha, Debbie, Cathy, Karen, and Lesa. Patricia married LaRon Taylor on 4 , 1968 in the Manti Temple and is survived by her husband, and two sons, Eric Shawn (wife Jamie) and Travis Lane. Her grandchildren were her life. are Brooke, McKenzie, Kerstain, Kayzlee, Alex, and Kameron. Pat was a kind loving wife, mother, and grandmother with a special ability to recognize and help others in pain. Many recognized her selfless, caring, giving attributes as she went out of her way to help in their various challenges. She was active in the LDS Church and held many positions in Primary and Relief Society. She and her husband also served a mission in eastern Montana. Holidays were always exciting and her favorite one was whichever holiday was next. Anyone entering her home would be blown away by the creative interior decorations and unique painting jobs. She will be sorely missed by all. services will be held on , 6, 2009 at 1 P.M. at 185 E. Goosenest Drive, Elk Ridge, Utah (4 miles southeast of Payson), with the viewing at 11:45 A.M. To get there turn south on 1600 West between Payson and Salem. At the end of that road where it Ts with Goosenest, turn east into town and continue on straight east when the road bends south.
