Obituary: On 3, 1937 Mrs. Louann K. Tyler was born to the late Valcent and Mable Kennerson, in Leonville, Louisiana. She was one of many siblings from this union. She passed into eternal rest on 8, 2016 at the age of 78. Mrs. Tyler accepted Christ at an early age. She was the mother of 7 children, 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She retired from Ben Taub Hospital after 25 years of service. She is preceded in death by son, Riyadh Muhammad. Obituary: Lily Mae Tyler, 72, passed away 12, 2011, at a local nursing facility. services will be 11:00 a.m. , 16, 2011, at Community Memorial Chapel, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene, with C.V. Blake officiating. Burial will follow in Pioneer , near Cross Plains, Texas, directed by Community Memorial . The family will receive friends at a visitation one hour before the service. Lily Mae (Gardner) Tyler was born 18, 1939 to Melvin and Florence (Gebhart) Gardner. Lily was raised in the country between Rising Star and Cross Plains where she attended school in a one room school house. Lily graduated from high school in Lueders, Texas. high school, Lily moved to Abilene and took a job as a cook for the Rexall Drug Store and later at Caseys Barn Door where she was a car hop and was able to carry four trays at a time in one arm. In 1964, Lily married Air Force Airman William D. Warren, who she often referred to as a HUNK. To this marriage three children were born Michael William, Brian Dwane, and Ginger Ann. Being in the military allowed Lily and her family to move to Alaska and places she would not have otherwise got to experience. moving back to Abilene, the couple divorced and Lily had to join the work force once again and served Inn and Shady Oaks as a C.N.A. In 1976, Lily married Raymond Tyler and to this union Wendy Diane was born. Lily enjoyed playing miniature golf, riding horses, painting, and singing. Lily even sang in a country western band at one time. Lily was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Merell Gardner, Eldon Gardner, and Frank Gardner; and a sister, Dorothy. Lily is survived by four children, Michael Warren (Stacey), Ginger Wheeldon (Dave), both of Pleasant Hill, MO, Brian Warren (Brenda) of Lexington Park, MD, and Wendy McChesney (James) of Wichita Falls, TX; ten grandchildren, Austin and Ashley Warren, Ashton and Nathan Wheeldon, all of Pleasant Hill, MO, William and Michael Warren of Lexington Park, MD, Alex, Jared, and Peyton McChesney, all of Wichita Falls, TX, and Samantha Lee Burton of Lexington Park, MD; a sister, Verna Dean Childers of Cross Plains, TX; and a brother, Wayne Gardner of Midland, TX. |

Leveta worked at Levi Strauss, Town and Country Mobile s, and retired from Howmet in 2006. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and woodworking. Leveta enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and her family. Leveta is preceded by her parents; husband; brother, Elvis Conway and sister, Irene Cockrum. Obituary: Letitia (Lettie) Sullivan Tyler, 89, of Houston, died peacefully at Granite Mesa in Marble Falls on May 23, 2015. She will be remembered for her passion for fairness, civic engagement, hospitality, and quick wit. Survivors include Ella Tyler, Marble Falls; Anne Tyler, Matt Jordan, their children, Trevor (Catie Beatty), Mallory and Alexander Jordan of Seattle; Robert Sullivan Tyler and daughter Letitia Baker (Carl Baker) of Houston; Timothy Tyler, Christa Gaug, their children Hannah and Lucas Tyler of Houston; brother-in-law, Clyde Tyler of San Diego; Jeri Spence of Austin; many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. Lettie was born 26, 1925 and was raised in Key West where her father, James B. (Sully) Sullivan, owned the welding shop. He was a close friend of Ernest Hemingway. Her mother, Letitia, was a nurse from Ireland. Lettie married Robert E. (Tim or Ty) Tyler, in Key West in 1950. His position as an advisor to the Turkish government took the family to Ankara from 1954 to 1957. He was director of the Office of Naval Research in Bermuda from 1959 to 1962. In Bermuda, Lettie was a Gray Lady, a Girl Scout leader, and a hostess to visiting scientists. The family moved to Houston in 1963 and bought a home in Meyerland, where Lettie lived until she moved to Marble Falls in 2014. As a board member of Volunteers In Public Schools, she advocated testing students for perceptual disabilities. She raised money for trees for Meyerland Park, was on the county Democratic Executive Committee, and chaired the Womens Political Caucus. She had A-negative blood and donated plasma regularly to produce a vaccine to protect babies against Rh disease. In 1991, Planned Parenthood gave her its Silver Spirit Award for her work organizing patient escorts. She sold real estate for Century 21-Dewberry, managed the office at Art Resources, and worked for City Councilman Vince Ryan. Her family thanks Midge Levis, Dr. Charles Holmsten and staff, and the staffs of Instead, Circle of Hands, and Granite Mesa for their loving care.
