Obituary: Olaguibel Fernando Treviño, Bolo, left the body on the evening of , 4th. He is a US Air Force veteran and a patriot. He beamed with pride for the life he helped create for his family. As a bright young man with limited opportunity in Mexico, he embarked on the journey to the US in 1955 to join the USAF in exchange for education, a career, and citizenship. However, he did not immigrate permanently to US until almost twenty years later, after a thriving career in computer technology in Mexico. He had married his greatest love, had two children, and seized the opportunity to immigrate with his family to San Antonio. His career in computers began by maintaining the very first main frame computer, IBMs RAMAC a computer, which was core to the development of RAM, which is now used in all current computer memory. Through the 70s, 80s and 90s he maintained mainframe computers for almost every major institution in San Antonio including Lackland, Kelly, Martin Marietta, UTSA, Bell Atlantic, UT Science , HEB Headquarters, USAA, and the City of San Antonio. Working at all hours of the day, so many critical systems ran smoothly for our city due to his many late night commutes to assess and repair frequent computer malfunctions. His incredible troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in all work shaped his brilliant career that allowed him to support his single income family and finance both of his childrens college education. Thoroughly embracing twenty-first century information age, Bolo lived with a vibrant appetite for knowledge, incessantly researching and analyzing information about everything new to him, especially in his favorite areas of interest including natural health, medicine, photography, classical music, science, technology, nature, literature, world politics, history, and current events. He was an exceptional marksman, having won several competitions in his youth and later in life at competitions with his son while using his favorite rifle. As an oral cancer survivor who successfully transitioned into his post-surgical limitations, he lived with meticulate attention to joy, purpose, healthy living, and his own intellectual growth to stimulate his hungry and active mind. Through his adventures, challenges, and accomplishments, he lived with enormous faith in Jesus Christ. He passed into Gods realm just as he had wished, with all of his dignity intact with recent, joyful visits and conversations with his entire family. Bolo was born to Raquenel and Fernando Treviño on 25th, 1934 in Monterrey, Mexico, and he is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 50 years, Martha, his children, Javier and Natalia, his daughter in-law, Karen, his son-in-law, Stewart, and his pride, joy, and future, his one grandchild, Stuart. Visitation , 8th from 5-8 pm. Memorial Service and Rosary, , 9th, 3 pm, at Sunset Northwest , 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. |
