Obituary: Frank Vaclav Tomasek, 75, died 7, 2011. Born on May 2, 1935, in Corn Hill, Texas, he was the son of Julie Sodoma and Frank J. Tomasek. He graduated from Academy High School and joined the United States Air Force in 1957. Frank trained as a jet engine mechanic at Chanute Air Force Base. He was released from active duty in 1961 with an honorable discharge. He married Frances Ann Lange on 28, 1959. had three children: Kathryn Ann, Lisa Annette, and Michael Frank. Frank V. Tomasek worked for the Austin Independent School District for thirty-seven years, beginning as an air conditioning maintenance technician and ending in construction management. He was a member of the American Society of Plant Engineers. He received an Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Design Graphics from Austin Community . His family, his church, and his Czech heritage were the most important things in his life. He and his wife loved polka dancing. danced as though they were made to be together. Frank served as treasurer of St. Stephen Society #112 of the K.J.T. for thirty years. He was also a devoted member of St. Louis Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and hospitality minister for many years. Recently, the Womens Club awarded him a special citation for his assistance polishing the brass used in church services. Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Annette. He is survived by his wife, Frances Ann Tomasek, his daughter Kathryn Ann Tomasek of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and his son Michael Frank Tomasek, of Austin Texas. The family is grateful for the assistance of Hospice Austin and Cedar View Rehabilitation and care Facility during Franks final weeks. A Visitation with Rosary will be held from 6 to 8pm 11, 2011 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks , 14501 N. IH 35 Pflugerville TX 78660. A Mass will take place on 12, 2011 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd. Austin, TX 78757. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks . Obituary: Frances (Lange) Tomasek, 78, of Providence, Rhode Island passed away on , 6, 2016. She grew up in Temple, Texas, where she attended St. Marys Catholic school, Temple High School, and Temple Junior . She graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor with a degree in Speech and English. Frances loved to dance, and her friend Julie Tomasek introduced her to her prince charming when Frank was home on leave from the Air Force. Frances and Frank went to dances almost every weekend, and they went on polka trips and cruises in later life. were married for more than fifty years. Frances was a beloved wife and mother who also worked full time outside her home after her children started school. She was a devoted member of St. Louis Catholic Church and of Society No. 93 of the K.J.Z.T. She was proud of her Czech and German heritage, and she and Frank sang together in the Happy Czech Singers. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Tomasek, by their infant daughter, Lisa, by her sister-in-law, Julie (Tomasek) Kaderka, and by their niece, Deborah Rose Hajda. She left many friends and family members, who will continue to cherish memories of her cheerful nature. We all felt better seeing her smiles and feeling her hugs. Her mother always said that Frances never met a stranger, and those who cared for her in her final years agreed. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Tomasek of Providence, Rhode Island, and her son, Michael Tomasek of the Dallas area, as well as by her sister, Ruth Wells of San Antonio, and by numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews, and their children. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. |

Obituary: John was born in 1923 to Italian immigrants, William and Grace Tomaino, in Red Bank, New Jersey. He was the third of six boys raised in the Catholic faith during the Great Depression. His meager childhood planted a deep-rooted seed for his relentless work ethic and determined drive. John served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1950. In 1958 he married Janice Mary Barnes, whom he met at a Lovers Lane bus stop as he departed his clothing store, The Squire Shop. John was well respected throughout the Dallas community. He was a loving father and provider, a prolific mentor to many, and a definite presence wherever he went! He will always be remembered for his legendary jokes and story-telling. He will be missed by many. He is survived by Anthony Tomaino, son; Jennifer Tomaino, daughter; James and Robert Pugh, grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Craig Tomaino, in 2014. A funeral service will be held on , 9, 2016 at 12:00 noon in the Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel.
