Obituary: Donald Charles Tighe went to be with the Lord on 19, 2010 at the age of 83 in Pasadena, Texas. Donald was born May 4, 1927 in Lakewood, Ohio to Charles Elmer and Ethel Stuhl Tighe. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jacqualynn Lou Chandonia. He also leaves behind five children, Scott and Patty Tighe of Oregon, Sharon and Dennis Janesz of New York, Shaune Tighe of Texas, Donald and Charlene Tighe of Texas, and Dianne Tighe of Florida; grandchildren: Chris Tighe, Bridget Tighe, Kenny Turk, Matt Turk, Turk, Kim Janesz, Brandon Janesz, Andrew Janesz, Tara Tighe, Ryann Tighe, and six great- grandchildren. He was an Ohio State wrestling champion and AAU National champion. Don was dedicated to the sport of wrestling. He started youth wrestling programs and coached wrestling for over fifty years. He was an avid weightlifter and runner, winning numerous races and participated in many long distance runs. Graveside services will be held on , 22, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. at Houston National , 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038. Obituary: Geneva Lillian Parks Mayes Tiggeman died peacefully in the Wesleyan at Scenic in Georgetown, TX at 12:30 AM 1st, 2017. She was ninety-three at her death and under hospice care. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the wonderful care of the Wesleyan Hospice Unit and the kind and caring Wesleyan nursing home staff. Geneva was born in Burnet, Texas on 2, 1924, the daughter of Walter T. Parks and Lillian Rebecca Hallmark Parks. She married Samuel B. Mayes on 24, 1941. had two daughters, Merwyn Claire, who married Arthur H. Johnston and Genabeth who married Don E. Bartosh. 38 years of marriage, Genevas husband, Sam, who was her teenaged sweetheart, died of a heart attack in 1979. Geneva and Sam have three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Amy Bartosh Cruse and Damon Cruse and their two children, Ava and Kellan; Julie Bartosh Williford and Timothy Williford and their two children, Laney and Kira; and Holly Bartosh Freeman and Jason Freeman and their two children, Brody and Parker. Geneva was a devoted stay-at-home wife and mom for many years before deciding to return to school and get her cosmetology license. She then went on to open her own successful beauty salon in Marble Falls, Texas. Following significant health issues, she sold her salon and she and her husband, Sam, sold their home in Marble Falls and relocated to Austin, Texas to be near their daughters. In 1984, Geneva married Floyd Harmon Tiggeman and this union blessed her with two stepchildren, David and Cherry. David and his wife Teresa have two children, Michael and James. James and his wife Abby have two children, twins Matilda and Eleanor. Geneva loved to cook and she and Floyd enjoyed entertaining family and friends and traveling the U.S. Floyd preceded Geneva in death after 11 years of marriage. Geneva became a shut-in during her later years but remained devoted to her extended family, always proudly displaying their pictures, cards, and relating news and anecdotes about them. She also remained devoted to her church family, the Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock, who continued to minister to her and support her until her death. She was a lover of beauty all her life and created it in her homes and in her life. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family would welcome gifts made in Genevas honor to hospice units. |
