Obituary: Peggy Sue Taylor went to be with her Lord on , 22, 2012. Peggy was born 6, 1936 in Three Rivers, Texas. She married Leo Taylor 2, 1957. During her life she was a kindergarten teacher at Irving Christian Academy, financial secretary at Crestview Baptist Church, a librarian in Newark, Texas and her greatest accomplishment was devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Leo Taylor; her mother and father, Evelyn and Perry Lewis and her brother, Perry Lewis. Peggy is survived by her daughters, Patricia Pitts and Leslie Hipp; 4 grandchildren, Ronnie and Matthew Pitts, Miranda and Spencer Hipp; 7 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Rance, Reese, Madison, Abigal, Kyle, Clayson, Avery and many nieces and nephews. She was also survived by her brothers, Dan Lewis of Artisia, NM and Pat Lewis of Van, TX. her Lord she loved her family. |

Obituary: PAUL JEFFERSON (P.J.) TAYLOR AGE 90, PASSED AWAY JULY 21, 2014. HE WAS BORN IN PETTISVILLE, OHIO JANUARY 10, 1924, TO HOWARD AND ELMA TAYLOR. HE GRADUATED FROM STRYKER, OHIO HIGH SCHOOL IN 1941 AND ENTERED THE NAVY SHORTLY THEREAFTER. AFTER WWII HE WAS EMPLOYED WITH BRITISH GUIANA AIRWAYS AND IN 1949 HE JOINED THE U.S. AIR FORCE. HE WAS STATIONED IN GOODFELLOW AFB IN SAN ANGELO, WHERE HE MET HIS WIFE JOY. THEY WERE MARRIED THERE IN 1952. HE SPENT A YEAR IN THE KOREA CONFLICT, AND THE FOLLOWING 6 YEARS THEY MOVED TO VARIOUS AIR FORCE BASES IN THE U.S.WHILE HE FLEW JETS IN THE AIR DEFENSE COMMAND AND ALSO INSTRUCTED AT NUMEROUS BASES. IN 1950 THEY MOVED TO Grand Bahama ISLAND WHERE HE OPERATED A WATER SPORTS AND SCUBA DIVING OPERATION AT A RESORT HOTEL AND HE LATER MANAGED THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT THERE. AFTER WELCOMING A BABY GIRL INTO THE FAMILY THEY MOVED TO BURNET AND OWNED AND OPERATED THE WHITE AUTO STORE UNTIL 1976. HE THEN DECIDED TO SELL AUTOMOBILES IN AUSTIN, WAS PARTS MANAGER AT FRY MOTORS, INC. AND SOLD REAL ESTATE FOR HANSZEN REALTORS. DURING THIS TIME HE FLEW AS AN AIR FORCE RESERVE OFFICER BASED OUT OF SAN ANTONIO, FINALLY RETIRING FROM THE AIR FORCE IN 1984. MORE ATTRACTIVE TO HIM THAN WORK, WERE HIS INTERESTS IN RIDING HIS MOTORCYCLES, TRAVELLING IN THE R.V., FLY FISHING IN COLORADO, AND FINALLY GETTING TO SKY DIVE. HE WAS PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, HIS SISTERS FREIDA DERRER AND GRACE ROBINSON, AND BROTHER RALPH. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE JOY, HIS DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND LYNN AND WALTER DOWNS, AND HIS GRANDCHILDREN AUSTIN AND TAYLOR. HE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY NUMEROUS NIECES AND NEPHEWS AND HOSTS OF FRIENDS. A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY JULY 23, 2014 AT 10:00 AM AT THE BURNET FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. MEMORIALS MAY BE MADE TO FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN BURNET, TX.
