Obituary: Dortha L. Taylor 10, 1920 - 21, 2016 Dortha L. Taylor, 95, affectionately known as Deo by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, went home to her Lord on , 21, 2016. Born on 10, 1920 in Jester, Oklahoma, Dortha, along with her late husband Roger Lafayette Taylor, became a resident of The Woodlands in the early 1980s. A member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church for 30 years, Dortha served as an active member of Craft Circle, Sarah Circle, the Prime Timers luncheon series, the Senior Adult school class, and last but not least, pie maker extraordinaire. To put it mildly, Dortha loved her church family and was passionate about her work with them. Her family of friends expanded in 2014 when she moved to Just Divine Hands where she participated as an active member of her senior living community. Dorthas sense of humor, zest for life, and selflessness were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a doting grandmother, a caring neighbor, and a loyal friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Roger Lafayette Taylor, and her sons Perry Lafayette Taylor and Ronald Dean Taylor. She is survived by her son Max Taylor and his wife Hayley; her daughter Jacquetta Taylor; her grandchildren Tracy Smith, Brent Roberts and his wife Bridget, Laura Johnson, Brittany Taylor, and Morgan Taylor; and her great grandchildren Wyatt Smith, Gunner Smith, Cash Smith, Maddie Roberts, and Hailey Roberts. Please join us as we celebrate her life on , 27th. A viewing and visitation will take place at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in the Robb Chapel from 12pm - 1pm followed by a funeral service. There will be a burial service immediately following the funeral at Calvary Hill & in Humble, TX. In remembrance of Dorthas passion for her faith and her love for her church family, in lieu of flowers, please consider directing memorial contributions made in her name to The Woodlands United Methodist Church. |

Obituary: Dorothy Francis Whisnand Taylor, 79, of San Angelo, Texas died , 22, 2010 in a local care center. Dorothy was born 2, 1931 in San Angelo to Earl and Mabel Whisnand. Dorothy graduated from Waco High School and briefly attended TCU before her marriage to James Ray Taylor of Waco. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Whisnand and Mabel (Clements Whisnand, sister Helen Dorrance, brother Earl W. Whisnand and son-in-law Steve Meeks. Dorothy is survived by her son Earl R. Taylor and wife Christine of Wiesbaden, Germany, daughter Sandra Meeks of Bryan, TX. and son James Alan Taylor and wife Cindy of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 5 nieces and nephews and a large extended family. A memorial service will be held at the Duke family reunion in Ballinger, Texas the fourth weekend of .
