Obituary: Ellen Trotter - Easley, SC Doris Ellen Powers Trotter, 80, of 213 Sheffield Road, died , 5, 2007 at Palmetto Baptist Easley. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Myrtice Ernestine Hambrick Powers. She was the owner and operator of Skate A Round USA and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Berry Earl Trotter of the home; a son, Rev. Bo Trotter and wife Evelyn of Easley; a son-in-law, Ronald K. Houston of Easley; three brothers, Roscoe Powers and wife Elizabeth of Greenville, Carroll Powers and wife Joan of Weaverville, NC, Frank Powers and wife Veda of Townville; six sisters, Thelma Butler of Fort Mill, Ruth Hilton of Alexandria, LA, Bobby Beck and husband Bob of Madison, MS, Martha Powers of Greenwood, Mary Gravely and husband Tommy of Rock Hill, Becky Melton and husband Donnie of Easley; three grandchildren, Chip Trotter and wife Jeanan, Chris Trotter and wife Jo Lee, Christy Sloan and husband Rick; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jane Houston; a brother, Alonzo Powers; and a sister, Alice Clark. services will be 2:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson - 1425 Powdersville Road with Reverends Russell Elder and Bo Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family is at the home of her son; 731 Shefwood Drive; Easley, SC 29642. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. , May 5, 2011 at Caughman-Harman , Irmo/St. Andrews Chapel. Memorials may be made to Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2659 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204. Mrs. Trotter was born May 30, 1929 in Saluda , SC and passed away on , May 3, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Clark Goodman and Essie Perry Goodman. Mrs. Trotter was a life- long seamstress. She was a member of the Eastern Star (Dentsville) and the Orene Petree school class at Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Trotter is survived by her daughter, Patti Langston (Mike) of Lexington; beloved grandson, Zachary Langston of Lexington and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Pinckney Trotter.
