Obituary: Barbara Jean Timberlake, 88, of Raleigh passed away , 30, 2016 at her residence. She was born in Kingville, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of the late Carlton Patrick and Mary Susan (Wilborn) OBrien. Barbara grew up in Oxford, North Carolina and graduated from Oxford High School. She received her BA degree in Education from Womans (University of NC at Greensboro) and her Masters degree from North Carolina Central University. Barbara enjoyed her 32 years as a Teacher and Administrator in the Wake School System. She was a member of Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 50 years serving as School Teacher, Deacon, and Circle Chairman. Barbara received Life Membership Award in the Women of the Church and was also a member of the John Knox School Class, Rachel Circle, and member of the Memorial Committee. She was also a member and past president of the Wake Retired School Personnel, a member of Beta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, past matron of Millbrook Chapter #293, Order of the Eastern Star, and a longtime volunteer at Rex care completing 10,000 hours . Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, James David Timberlake and infant son, James David Timberlake, Jr. She is survived by son, David Timberlake and wife Vita, daughter, Susan Ballard and husband Al, grandchildren, Chris Ballard and wife Alicia, Abbey Timberlake, Sean Ballard and wife Lisa, Carlton Timberlake, Megan Black and five great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm 11, 2016 at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 4921 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Obituary: VIRLYN TILSON 1938-2015 Gastonia – Virlyn Stanley Tilson, 77 entered into his Heavenly on 27, 2015 at CaroMont Regional Medical . He was born in Franklin, NC on 7, 1938 to the late Stanley Willie and Marie Emma Rogers Tilson. Virlyn was a loving and caring man who will be missed greatly! He was a member of Faith Baptist Church; and loved people, riding motorcycles, fishing and spending time at the flea market. You would often find him enjoying eating dinner at a local fish camp. Virlyn had worked for the Gastonia Police Department and Dallas Police Department before retiring from the Gaston Sheriffs Department with over 27 years of dedicated service.
