Obituary: Richard P. Tremblay, 88, of Keene, a well-known Keene educator, died 27, 2016, at Cheshire Medical /Dartmouth-Hitchcock Keene with his loving family by his side. Richard was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire on 23, 1927, the son of Isidore and Marie Blanche (Gagnon) Tremblay and was the first of three sons. Richard attended the Sacred Heart School with many of his first cousins, who he remained close to throughout his life. A 1945 graduate of Lebanon High School, Richard was a member of the football and baseball teams and enjoyed skiing. He continued his education at Keene Teachers receiving a Bachelors of Education in 1950. graduation he entered the US Army, was stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia and served as an instructor. He was honorably discharged in 1952 with the rank of Corporal. Back to civilian life, he taught in Jaffrey, New Hampshire and Bellows Falls, Vermont. In 1954 he received a Masters Degree in Education from Boston , Boston, Massachusetts. He continued his 35-year teaching career first at Keene Junior High School and later at Keene High School where he taught math and science. For the final 12 years of his career in education, he was Administrator of the Blue House at Keene High School. In 1968 he was awarded a Master of Science for Teachers from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. On 11, 1956, he exchanged wedding vows with Constance Collias at St. Bernards Church in Keene. Together they raised their family in a home they built at 45 Hastings Avenue. Professionally he served on many education committees. He was president of the Keene Education Association, chairman of the Keene District Leadership Unit, and president of the New Hampshire Science Teachers Association. In the Keene community, he served on the Keene Planning Board and the Keene Conservation Commission. In retirement he enjoyed a second career working part-time as an assistant to Thomas Flavin, land surveyor, for 18 years. He was an active communicant of Saint Margaret Mary Church, where he served on the first parish council, taught religious education and was a lector. As a member of the Keene State Alumni Association, he helped plan reunions and served on the committee that guided the renovation of the Camp on Wilson Pond. He was a member of the Cornell University Alumni Admissions Ambassadors Network and represented the University to prospective students. He was pleased that many of the students he interviewed chose to attend Cornell. He was a member of Hooper Golf Club in Walpole, New Hampshire where he especially enjoyed a round of golf with his good friend and colleague Ed Bourassa. He had an interest in photography and an appreciation of his French Canadian heritage, tracing family history and collecting photos and anecdotes to share with his relatives. Richard spent many happy hours with his grandchildren. He introduced them to the world of geology, helping each grandchild develop an appreciation of rocks and minerals and creating their own special collection. He proudly attended many religious celebrations, performances and athletic events of his grandchildren. Richard was known for his unique sense of humor, which provided many laughs for family and friends and helped to sustain himself and his loved ones through difficult times. As an educator, he touched many lives. He was regularly invited by former students to attend Keene High School class reunions, where he would hear about the positive impact he had on their lives. Survivors include his wife of 59 years Constance C. Tremblay, of Keene; a daughter Karen Tremblay van Dijk, her husband Alex, and their children Katherine, Stephanie and Thomas all of Windermere, Florida; a daughter Deborah Tremblay Wales, her husband Scott, and their children Addison and Oziah, all of Weybridge, Vermont; a son Mark Richard Tremblay; a brother James H. Tremblay and sister-in-law Maryellen of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; and several cousins, nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. His brother Charles N. Tremblay died in 2002. A Memorial and Celebration to remember the life of Richard will be held on , 16, 2016 at 12:00PM at the Keene State Alumni , 232 Main Street, Keene. Family, friends and former students are warmly invited. There will be a time to share reflections and memories of Richard. Obituary: Sister Pauline Tremblay, CSC (Sr. Anne de Beaupré) age 78, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died 20, 2011 at Holy Cross in Manchester. She was born in Manchester May 22, 1933 to Ernest and Yvonne (Gentes) Tremblay. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1952 and made her final profession in 1959. She served the Congregation for 59 years. She earned a BA degree from Notre Dame in 1970. Sr. Tremblay served as an elementary school teacher for 23 years and had been stationed in Rochester, NH; North Grosvenordale, CT; New Bedford, MA; St. Albans, VT; and Groton, CT. In 1977 she moved to Brandon, FL where she worked as an elementary school teacher, a registrar and later a media assistant in the school. Obituary: HENRI A. TREMBLAY Henri A. Tremblay, 81, of Manchester died 24, 2001 at the Veterans Administration Medical , Manchester. Born in Manchester on 28, 1920, he was the son of Joseph and Leda (Bergeron) Tremblay. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester. He played baseball in Manchester for McGills Sunset League and for the American Legion Sweeney Post. In 1937 he and his brother, Laurence Tremblay formed a semi-professional baseball team in Manchester called the Battlers. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He later became a master plumber and worked at Tremblay Brothers Plumbing and Heating and Norm Dubois Plumbing and Heating for many years. He was married to Bernadette L. Dionne who died in 1984. He was also predeceased by two sons, Norman Tremblay in 1976 and George Tremblay in 2000, and a grandson, Marc Boulanger in 1988. The family includes three daughters, Carmel Boulanger of Winter Park, FL, Priscille Morin of Manchester and Jacqueline Miller of Oldsmar, FL; two sons, Daniel Tremblay and Donald Tremblay both of Manchester; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Armand Tremblay of Manchester; three sisters, Adrienne Carignan, Florida Favreau and Claire Tremblay all of Manchester; many nieces and nephews. Born in Manchester on 18, 1943, he was the son of Ernest H. and Yvonne (Gentes) Tremblay. He lived in Bedford for 10 years and in Deerfield for 22 years before moving to Pittsburg in 1998. He served in the New Hampshire Army National Guard and was activated during the Berlin Crisis. Mr. Tremblay was a construction supervisor with Bell Atlantic where he had worked for 30 years. He had also worked as a police officer with the Bedford Police Department for two years. He had served as a Cub Scout Master for Troop 5 in Bedford for two years and later served as a Eucharistic Minister. The family includes his wife, Elaine M. (Remillard) Tremblay of Pittsburg; three sons, Brian W. Tremblay of Goffstown, Keith E. Tremblay of Pittsburg and Neil A. She lived in Manchester most of her life. She was married to Armand J. Tremblay who died in 2004. The family includes six children, Dorothy Proulx of Amherst, Denis Tremblay of Manchester, Elaine Morgan of Gray, TN, Gloria Billups of Manchester, Armand J. Tremblay Jr. of Auburn and Celeste Meade of Bedford; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The funeral was held , 16, 2008 in the funeral home. Obituary: Denise A. Tremblay, 67, of Manchester, died May 30, 2005 after a brief illness. She was born in Manchester, 14, 1937, and was the daughter of Lucien J. and Irene B. (Leclerc) Allyson. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester. Mrs. Tremblay courageously battled lung cancer, made brave choices, and maintained a sense of hope and optimism throughout her illness. She received loving and personal care from the professional staff at Hanover Hill where she made many friends while caring for her parents. For over a decade she was a teacher and lecturer of biology and chemistry at Notre Dame in Manchester. In later years she worked at the Currier Gallery of Art. She was a caregiver for elderly family members and neighbors. Mrs. Tremblay was an avid birdwatcher and volunteered with the Audubon Society of NH. She was always interested in the flora and fauna of New Hampshire. Denise loved to read and was very accomplished in the culinary arts. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Tremblay in 1992. She is survived by her son, Paul L. Tremblay of Manchester; her daughter, Michele L. Tremblay of Boscawen; her sister, Liane A. Crawford of Boston; two nephews, Derick and Dylan Crawford of Boston; a niece, Allyson Crawford of New York; many nieces and nephews through her marriage to Paul A. Tremblay; and her companion, George V. Wight of Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 4, 2005 at St. Peters Church in Auburn. Burial followed in St. in in Manchester.
