Obituary: Margaret Jones Templeton, 92, of Junction City, LA, and lately of Highland Village, TX, went to be with her Lord on , 18th, 2017. She would not allow us to share her middle name. She was with her husband, Maurice Templeton, at the time and had battled multiple illnesses over the past 18 months. Although a resident of Junction City for most of her life, Margaret and Maurice moved to Texas in late 2015 so they could be cared for and surrounded by family on a daily basis. Loving family members who are left to treasure her wit and wisdom are her daughter Jan Templeton Brashear and her husband Reagan Brashear of Flower Mound, TX; grandson Clint Brashear and his wife Susan Bates Brashear, grandson Jarret Brashear and his wife Meghan McGlone Brashear, granddaughter Sommer Brashear Everett and her husband Matt Everett; three cherished great-grandchildren, Eden Brashear, Miles Everett and Beverly Brashear. Her great-grandchildren were the light of her life and their visits gave her something to look forward to. Also surviving Margaret are her cousins Jon and Tammy Jerry who helped care for she and Maurice at home for several years. She also had the love of a cat named Tombo who now resides with Jan. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and brother. Margaret was a graduate of Junction City Schools and was awarded a teaching degree at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX in 1946. She taught home economics at Junction City High School for 35 years and influenced many generations of women by graciously teaching them how to sew, cook, run a household and to believe in themselves. Many of her students recall a spunky spirit that did not settle for average but pushed each woman to achieve her best, be it cooked oatmeal, putting in a zipper or balancing a checkbook. Mrs. T, as her "girls" called her, would continue to push her students until she could congratulate them on a "Job Well Done". As many of these ladies have passed down what they learned from Mrs. T to their own daughters and granddaughters she continues to be an influence today and hopefully for years to come. Margaret was an avid painter of china, she had a touch that could turn flowers and animals into something special. Several of her pieces won awards over the years. These priceless possessions can be seen in the homes of her family members, a fact of which she was very proud. A dear friend to many, she is described as a faithful Christian woman, loyal, and even a feisty precious soul! She and Maurice would have been married 70 years in a few short months. enjoyed having visitors to their home, traveling and helping take care of the horses on Jan's farm. He loved telling the story of rushing to see her at TWU when he got home from fighting in Europe in WWII and how she took his breath away when she came down the formal staircase to greet him. Apparently it was "quite a reunion!" Clint, Susan and Eden took Margaret and Maurice back to TWU for a visit just last summer. Visitation will be held at Young's in El Dorado on , 21 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Long-time members of Immanuel Baptist Church, Margaret's service will be held there at 2 p.m. on , 22nd with graveside service following at Roselawn in Junction City under the direction of Young's Directors. Officiating will be Rev. Ben Wasson and Rev. H. B. Fuller. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Clint and Jarret, family members Joe Lynn Henley, Jon and Tristan Jerry and close family friend Steven Bates along with honorary pallbearer, Wayne Smith. Whether she was known to you as Mrs. Templeton, Margaret, Mrs. T or Mamoo, please join the family to celebrate her "Job Well Done". Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 701 S.
