Obituary: Rita Marie Tomlin, 82, passed away Nov 6, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born Rita Marie Sabus on 11, 1933 to George and Blanche Sabus (West) in Churdan, Iowa. She graduated from Jefferson High School and Iowa School of Beauty. Her first job was with Braniff Airlines and afterwards was a stay-at-home mom devoted to raising her six boys. When the boys were old enough she returned to work at Yellow Front / Checker Auto in the payroll department. She retired and spent her time crocheting, gardening, going to church, shopping, spending time with family and taking day trips with family to various towns in Arizona, Nevada and California. Rita is survived by her family: brother Dean and Nancy Sabus, sisters Ann Land and Rhea Coffman. Sons George and Tami Tomlin, David and Brady Tomlin, Wayne Tomlin, Brian and Tina Tomlin, Paul Tomlin and Michael and Michelle Tomlin. She was a strong, loving, caring, beautiful, funny and devoted mother that looked forward to family get-togethers and spoiling her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at 5pm, , 10th at Heritage Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Road Peoria, AZ 85381. |

Obituary: Elder Clarence Tomlin (1934-2014) Elder Clarence Tomlin, 80, passed away , 28, 2014 at his home in Yuma. He was born 28, 1934 in Yuma, AZ to Riley T. and Octavia R. Tomlin. He was the youngest child of 6 from their union. Clarence attended Roosevelt Elementary, Second Avenue Grammer school, 4th Avenue school, Carver school and Yuma High School and graduated in 1952. He attended U of A in Tucson for 1 year. On 2, 1955, Clarence was joined in marriage to Lena M. Long, who preceded him in death on 23, 2014, to that union was born Marlida Armanda, Michael Andre, and Joseph Corey Tomlin. Clarence was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Bibleway Apostolic Church. Clarence was preceded in death by his son, Michael Andre Tomlin; parents, Riley and Octavia Tomlin; brothers, Amos, Bill, and Riley; sister, Silvia Lee. Clarence leaves behind his children, Marlida Armanda and Joseph Corey Tomlin, brothers, Curley Culp and William Frank Culp Jr.; sister, Shirley Culp McFarlin and Lucille Tomlin Smith. A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at noon on , 3, 2015 at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, 1415 S. 1st Avenue, Yuma. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn. Repass will follow after services at American Legion Post 56, 1490 W. 3rd Street, Yuma. |
