His family was blessed to be at his side during this Journey. Kenny was born 28, 1921, in Hanna City, to Beatty and Mary (Bontz) Turbett. He married the love of his life, Mildred "Milly" Silzer on 12 1948, in Peoria, IL. Milly survives. Kenny is also survived by his children, Martha (Jon) Weller of Chaska, MN, Thomas (Liz) Turbett of Leslie Vale, Tasmania, Australia, Marilyn (Robert) McCloud of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Scott (Erin) Turbett of Hanna City, IL; his grandchildren, Andrea Turbett of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, Ellen (Shane) Getz of Morton, IL, and Simon Turbett of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia; his sister, Eula Mae (Don) Parr, of Hanna City, IL; his brother-in-law, Bud (Lois) Silzer; and nieces and nephews. He worked in the Planning Department for 42 years before retiring from Caterpillar in 1982. He was a fourth-generation, lifelong farmer and a good steward of the land onto which he was born, lived and from which he passed. He loved his home but also loved to travel. When his children were young, Kenny ensured that his family experienced most of the United States. Later, he and Milly enjoyed international travel to places such as Australia, Africa, South America and Europe. Like his father before him, Kenny was a veteran. He served in WWII as a U.S. Army Air Force sergeant, stationed in England, in the capacity of a B-24 airplane mechanic. On his discharge in , 1945, Kenny was awarded four Bronze Stars for his role in the American Theater. He was a member of the US American Legion Thrush-Parry Post #212 since 1945. Kenny loved his family dearly and leaves with them a legacy of love, support and integrity. A lifelong member of the Hanna City Presbyterian Church, Kenny was a faithful man of God who lived by his Christian values. Although he will be dearly missed, his friends and family celebrate that after his long life, he has been received into the kingdom of his Lord.
