Obituary: Viola Lee Taylor, 90, of New Plymouth, passed away , Feb. 6, 2015. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., , Feb. 11th at Riverside , Payette. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Violas family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Viola was born Oct. 17, 1924 to us Gus and Francis Fannie Neel in Wilder, ID. In 1939, she married Jack Taylor and remained by his side for 65 years until his passing in 2007. She loved music, reading, sewing and being a loving mother to her three children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two granddaughters, Kathy Wilson and Peggy Jamison; seven brothers and sisters. Viola is survived by her children, Barbara Enslow (Charles) of Florence, OR, Marjorie Randall (Clark) of Ontario, OR and Larry Taylor of New Plymouth, ID; a brother, Kenny Neel and sister, Wanda Herrlin both of Sacramento, CA; a granddaughter, Angie Lanterman of Boise, ID; three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. We will all miss her and remember the happiness she brought in our lives. |

Obituary: Samuel Park Taylor 1990-2015, 24, Petty Officer 2nd Class-MK2 of Boise, Idaho & Lincoln City Oregon, was welcomed into the arms of God on 30th, 2015 in Key West, Florida. Sam was born in Ontario, Oregon on 23rd, 1990 to us, his parents, Steve and Susan Taylor. Sam was welcomed with loving hugs and many kisses by his sister, Sara. In his younger years, Sam attended school in Weiser, Idaho and graduated from Mountain View High School in Meridian, Idaho in 2009 after our family moved to Boise in 2004. Sam was the kind of kid that everyone was drawn to; he had a heart of gold and was a true Guardian to those around him!! He loved playing with his is friends when we lived on Chicken Hill in Weiser. Sam, Kolby, Riley, Chris, Kyle, & Dalton were the Chicken Hill Gang! played for hours at a time, moving from house to house, to the fort, to Sams BMX/Motocross track, & to the creek. brought home, fish, frogs, lizards, crawdads, and snakes; Sam use to scare Steve with the snakes….we all had a little laugh! Sam loved to ride his motorcycle with his dad, Donnie, Big Don, Brent, and the Odoms boys, Brandon & Alex…Sam received the love of motorcycles from his dad!! One day he wrecked on his track next to the house, the next thing I knew, Sara and Sam were at the front door, Sara was screaming hysterically, her little brother was hurt, blood running down his face…Sam wasn crying, I think he thought it was cool…just like the pros! Sam was very athletic, he excelled in all sports: wrestling, baseball, soccer, football, golf, even to our dismay, jumping from the roof, to the trampoline and then flipping into the pool!! Sam was so worried about our move to Boise, he didn want to leave his friends in Weiser, and he was so worried that he wouldn find friends in Boise. As all of us know, there really was no need to worry, Sams circle of friends became bigger with the move , he was blessed with: Zane, Blake, Cody M., Joey, Cody P., Trevor, Chi, Kade, Kyle, Tatiana, Scott, Ryan, Zach, Erin….and many, many more. Sam found his new brother, Jacob Wilson, his sisters husband…they will always have a very special bond. Sam joined the Coast Guard in 2009, he was on the bus to boot camp the week of his 19th birthday. We had empty nest syndrome so bad, it didn help that Sara moved out of house two weeks later. While at the Cape May Training , Sam received the Jon W. ‘Jack Campbell Physical Fitness Award at graduation, for demonstrating the highest level of physical fitness during recruit training. While stationed in Hawaii, Sam was assigned to the USCGC Jarvis and received a Letter of Commendation for his outstanding performance of duty for his can do attitude, maturity and leadership. He attended MK A-School in Yorktown Virginia. Then, Sams next adventure took him to Key West Florida, assigned to the USCGC Sawfish. While in Key West, Sam assisted relief for a sailor aboard a vessel named Second Chance. When transferred to the sailing vessel, they worked throughout the night; no sleep was had as the slow speeds greatly exaggerated the pitch and roll of the cutter. Sam said, When I was initially sent to the Second Chance to assist, I felt excited for the opportunity to help out. I quickly realized that the sea conditions and distance to Key West would challenge our endurance, as the trip would take over 15 hours. While in Key West, Sam married his wife Annie. Sams next adventure took him to Depoe Bay, Oregon. On 29th, 2014, Coast Guard personnel from Depoe Bay and Newport launched an air and sea rescue mission to save five fishermen. Sam assisted in the rescue and received the Commandants Letter of Commendation. The medals and awards Sam received while serving in the United States Coast Guard include: Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Coast Guard Rifle Marksman Ribbon, Coast Guard Pistol Marksman Ribbon with S Device, Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation Ribbon with Four Gold Stars, Coast Guard Commandants Letter of Commendation Ribbon with One Gold Star and O Device, National Defense Service Medal, Coast Guard Sea Service Ribbon, Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal. Sam, our sweet loving son, passed away while on vacation in Key West, Florida. Sam is survived by us, his parents, Steve and Susan Taylor of Boise, Idaho; his loving sister, Sara Wilson and his brother-in-law Jacob Wilson; their children, Sams nieces and nephews: Hunter Park Wilson, Maci Mae Wilson, Charlize Wilson, and Elijah Wilson; his wife Annie Taylor; his grandparents: Mike and Ginger Roberts; his great grandmother Mary Lou Maddux; his uncle Mark and aunt Tami; his uncle Brian and aunt Angie; his cousins: Zach, Aaron, Kimber, Morgan and Anthony and their families; Annies parents: Tanya and Todd Bako; and Annie‘s brother , Garret Stanley. Sam is proceeded in death by his grandmother and grandfather: Mary Jo and Everett Taylor; his great-grandfathers and great-grandmothers: Orvis and Maxine Franklin, Clyde Smith, Esther and Lester Grinstead, Melvin and Frances Taylor, Buck Maddux and Lee Roberts. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on , 7, 2015 at 9 am in the Chapel of Cloverdale , 1200 N. Cloverdale Rd., Boise, ID 83713, with Bishop Randy Jensen officiating. A viewing for the public will be held on , 6, 2015 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Sam will be laid to rest at The Idaho State Veterans , 10100 North Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID 83714, immediately following the service on . Full Military Honors will be presented.
