Obituary: Kathryn L. Tipton, aged 93, went to be with the Lord on 25, 2012 in Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel C. Tipton, Jr. Mrs. Tipton lived in several Western states before settling in Tennessee after her marriage. She graduated from Oregon State with a 4.0 average. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Chi Theta honorary societies. Mrs. Tipton was a charter member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee where she taught School for 34 years. She was also an active member of the Senior Adult Saints Alive group for many years.Mrs. Tipton is survived by two sons and one daughter and their spouses: Dan and Maggie Tipton of Petersburg, New York, Rick and Marcia Tipton of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Elayne and Frank Saucier of Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by daughter, Carolyn Pritchett, wife of Vaughan Pritchett of Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Tipton is survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.Graveside services will be at 9:30 am at Greenwood with Dr. Jim McCluskey officiating and a memorial service at10:30 am at Wallace Memorial Baptist Church, Knoxville Tennessee with Rev. Kent Williams officiating.
