Obituary: Mieczyslaw Sokolowski 75 of Newington died , 27, 2012 with his beloved family by his side at the Hospital of Central CT. He was born in Poland and has lived in Newington for the last 14 years, previously living in New Britain. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain and retired from Winslow Automatic Co. He was a loving father and grandfather, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jadwiga (Tyszka) Sokolowski two sons and a daughter, Andrzej Sokolowski and his wife, Dorota of Plantsville; Adam Sokolowski and his wife, Krystyna of Wolcott; Alicja Kordalski and her husband, Grzegorz of Berlin. He leaves six beloved grandchildren, who where his pride and joy, Adam, Steven, Jonathan and Joseph Sokolowski, Nell and Adam Kordalski. He leaves a brother Edmund Sokolowski in Poland and three sisters in law, Irena Suchodolska, Stanislawa Rudzinska of Poland and Grazyna Kulaj of New Britain; he was predeceased by a sister in law, Maria Smiarowski and a sister, Helena Jakubowska. services will be on , 1, 2012 at 8:30 AM at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino , 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart , all located in New Britain. Obituary: Mary Morton Sokolosky, 71, of 21 Rice Terrace, Branford passed away at Yale-New Haven Hospital on 22, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Sokolosky of Branford. She was born in Grace-New Haven Hospital on 23, 1937, a daughter of Mary Pauk Morton of Branford, and the late Irwin Beach Morton. Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a son Michael Sokolosky of Branford; five sisters, Ann Morton Frohn (William) of Santa Cruz, CA, Margaret Morton Hauschild (Robert) of New London, Sonya Morton Mangan (Edward) of Madison, Janet Morton Linskey (Patrick) of Old Greenwich, CT, and Alice Morton Doyle (Robert) of Fairlee, VT; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Sokolosky Ceccolini (Bruno), and Joyce Hanchuruck Sokolosky, both of Branford. She was predeceased by a son James Sokolosky. Mary graduated from Branford High School in 1955 and received an A. S. Degree in Executive Secretarial studies in 1957 from Quinnipiac in Hamden. She worked as a secretary at the Malleable Iron Fittings in Branford, Chesebrough-Ponds, Inc. in Clinton, and Boston Mortgage Co. in Guilford. She was a member of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church in New Haven, and she volunteered at AIDS Interfaith Network in New Haven. Friends may call evening from 5 – 7 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial , 504 Main St., Branford. Burial in Summer Hill , North Madison will be at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to AIDS Interfaith Network, 1303 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511. |
