Obituary: Norwich- Our beloved Laura B. Seder, 49, of 43 Ox Hill Road, Norwich, CT, passed away on 18, 2010. She was born in Stamford, Connecticut, 24, 1961 and married the love of her life Scott H. Seder on May 28, 1989. Laura has two adoring children, Alexis, age 17, and Evan, 14. Laura was a partner in the Norwich Law firm of Sayet and Seder, Attorneys at Law. Her practice concentrated in the areas of Family, Real Estate, Collection, and Indian Law, related to Child Welfare. Laura graduated high school from Williams School in 1979, Goucher in Towson, Maryland in 1983, and received her Juris Doctorate from the University Of Miami School Of Law in 1986. Laura was a member of the New London , Connecticut and American Bar Associations. She was a Tribal Prosecutor for the Mashantucket Tribe representing child welfare matters. She is admitted to practice before all of Connecticut and Florida State Courts, various Federal Courts, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Courts, and the Mohegan Gaming Disputes Court. She also was a past board member of the Integrated Day Charter School Foundation, the Norwich Community Development Corporation, Beth Jacob Board of Education, Williams School Alumni Board of Directors, and past President of the Norwich Jaycees. Laura was a tenacious athlete who excelled in tennis and golf, winning many tournaments throughout her life. Laura was a volunteer for the annual hospice walk-a-thon and participated in fundraising activities for the Nicaragua Foundation. Laura is survived by her loving and devoted family; husband, Scott H. Seder of Norwich, their two children, Alexis and Evan, her parents Irwin and Phyllis Sayet, parents-in-law Walter and Marlene Seder, brother Mark Sayet and wife Hedy Sayet, brother Attorney Bart Sayet and his wife Lori Lindfors, brothers-in-law Jeffrey Seder, Todd Seder, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held , 21, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Beth Jacob Synagogue, 400 New London Turnpike, Norwich, CT 06360. Obituary: Norwich- Edward J. Seder, died peacefully and gracefully on 16, 2014 at home with his family by his side after 101 wonderful years. He was born in Springfield, MA on 12, 1913 to the late Charles and Anna (Kravitz) Seder. On 25, 1940 Ed married Lillian Golub in Bozrah. At a young age, he joined his father working in the family business, Shetucket Iron and Metal. He continued to be involved in the day to day operations of the business well into his nineties. Throughout his life, Ed was interested in politics on local, state and national levels. He was active in Norwich politics as a member of the Republican Town Committee, serving on both the Norwich City Council and Board of Education. He was also a member of the Republican State Central Committee and the Governors Small Business Advisory Committee. He was honored by the Republican State Central Committee, receiving the Pat Futtner Award in 1992 at the Prescott Bush Dinner and the Connecticut Republican Annual Congressional Award from the 2nd District in 2001. Ed attended several National Republican Presidential Conventions as a voting delegate. One of Eds proudest accomplishments was being chosen to be a member of the Electoral and actually vote to elect the U.S. President. Ed was involved in many local community organizations He was a member of the Norwich Community Development Commission, the Norwich Harbor Improvement Commission and was active in forming the Norwich Martin Luther King . He was a member of the Norwich Rotary for many years, and numerous social and fraternal organizations. Ed is survived by his wife Lillian, sons Michael and his wife Judith (Levin) of West Hartford, Stephen and his wife Jane (King) of Bozrah and daughter Joan of Norwich. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jennifer Cohen and her husband Steven of Farmington, CT, Sarah Shapiro and her husband Jonathan of Middletown, CT, step-granddaughter Julianne Weiner and her husband Seth of Boyds, MD, Katherine Karon and her husband Adam of Newton, MA, Andrew Seder and his wife Rebecca (Galligan) of Quaker Hill. In addition, great-grandchildren Alyssa and Sasha Cohen, Lily and Ari Shapiro, step great-grandchildren Benjamin and Bria Weiner, Stephen and Max Karon, Zen, Teva, and Rayla Seder. He is also survived by his brother Walter Seder of Florida and his sister Sylvia Eisenberg of Mystic, CT. He was predeceased by his sister Esther Seder, grandson Joshua White Seder and great-grandson Daya Edward Seder. Ed will always be remembered for his constant optimism, compassion and belief that the next day would always be better. Obituary: OAKDALE - Louise D. Seddon, 87, formerly of Oakdale, passed away peacefully on at Harrington Court in Colchester, with family by her side. She was born on 7, 1923 in Norwich, CT to the late Ernest and Emma P (Gladue) Duhaime. graduating from N.F.A. she attended the William W. Backus Hospital School of earning her R.N. certification. She would go on to work for Backus Hospital for over 40 years particularly enjoying her position in the maternity unit. Louise held many a ew years baby for photos in local newspapers over the years. Louise married her beloved husband Thomas I. Seddon in Norwich in 1946. Together they made their family while maintaining their careers. Thomas predeceased her in 1980. Louise and Thomas were truly a couple in love holding hands, enjoying ballroom dancing together and camping and boating with their children. Louise was a proud graduate of NFA including being a Nu Sigma Gamma sorority member. She would play guitar and sing, loved to water ski, boat, and be outdoors, particularly at the beach every chance she had. She is survived by her four children and their spouses; Cheryl & Mel Napa, Cindy & Rich Longhini, Deborah Seddon, Thomas & Eileen Seddon along with grandchildren; Jason Przekop, Dara & Derek Longhini, Dane Seddon, Shaina Morales, Bailey & Chloe Seddon, great-grandchildren; Slater, Sophia and Vivienne Przekop and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Louise was predeceased by one brother and three sisters. Visitation will be held on from 9am-11am at the Church & Allen , 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. A Service will be held at 11am at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Maplewood . In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society. |

Obituary: SECOR. George L. Secor, Jr., 92, of Plantsville, beloved husband of Bettie (Harris) Secor passed away , 24, 2017 at Summit at Plantsville. Born 10, 1924 in Hartford, son of the late George L Secor, Sr. and Carrie (Frasier) Secor, he lived in West Hartford before moving to Simsbury in 1987 and then to Plantsville last year. As a young man George served his country proudly during WWII with the U.S. Army, he was with the 19 13th Aviation Engineers and spent 20 months in the Pacific and earned 5 battle stars during that time. Before retiring he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 35 years. He enjoyed gardening but most of all he enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides his wife Bettie, he is survived by a son, Thomas G. Secor and his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Carol Jean Howley and her husband, Bob; Patricia Joanne Nielsen and Robin Rae Tiede and her husband, Art; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother and five sisters. A memorial service will be held , 2, 2017, 7:00 PM, at Carmon and Family , 301 Country Club Rd., Avon. Burial with military honors will be , 3, 2017, 1:00 PM, in CT State Veterans , 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Warriors, P.O.
