Obituary: Maria Ida Sisneros age 92 passed to eternal life on 26, 2014. She was born on May 22, 1922 at Los Cerritos, Colorado. Her parents were Juan Pablo Lucero and Constancia Solano. Her childhood years were lived in a small hamlet named Del Ojito where she worked as a Lumberjack and farmhand. This is where she met her soul mate Pantalion Sisneros. married and had 5 children, Andrew, Alonzo, twin daughters Juanita and Rosanna who died at an early age and Louise. Life in Del Ojito was hard and not very prosperous so they migrated to Northern Colorado to work as migrant farm workers. settled in Greeley where she worked as a house keeper and eventually a cook at the University of Northern Colorado. Idas greatest attribute was her strong faith in the Roman Catholic Church where she became active in the Cursillo Movement and fell deeply in love with Jesus Christ. It was her deep faith that carried her through many years of physical suffering. She continued to attend Mass until she was no longer able to leave the house. Above and foremost she always put her kids first. She never complained and monetarily had little, but gave a lot. Maria Ida is survived by her son Andrew Sisneros( Rapid City, South Dakota), daughter Louise Quintana (Albert Quintana)(Thornton Co,) and Sister Clara Lucero(Monte Vista, CO), 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by spouse Pantalion Sisneros, son Alonzo Sisneros, twin daughters Juanita and Rosanna, sisters Susie Martinez & Orelia Elsie Armenta and Brother Regino Ortiz. She will always be a great example to us all because her life was legendary. Visitation , 2, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm at Olinger Highland Chapel. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on , 3, 2014, 10am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 9371 Wigham St., Thornton, CO 80229. She will be laid to rest at Olinger Highland immediately following the church service. Family and friends are invited to join the family after the blessing of the grave for a reception back at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Maria's family and food for the reception. |
