Obituary: Betty Jean Sage 31, 1925 - 5, 2015Jean Sage passed away at HopeWest Hospice in Grand Junction, 5, 2015. She was born in Elbing, Kansas to Richard and Marie (Turner) Gosnell. She was a resident of Grand Junction for 67 years. Jean married Herbert Sage 7, 1946, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She worked in retail at JC Penney Co. until Herb retired, then she retired so they could spend winters in Scottsdale, AZ.Jean was an accomplished seamstress and for years made all her clothes for herself and her daughter, Karen. She crocheted numerous afghans. She lived in a time where girls took home economics in school and laughingly said she got A+ in sewing and D in cooking.Jean is survived by her daughter, Karen (Jack) Elsea of Battlement Mesa, CO; grandsons, Mark (Jodi) Elsea of Gordon, NE, and Joshua (Megumi) Elsea of Fort Belvoir, VA; great-grandchildren, Colten, Seth, and Madison Elsea of Gordon, NE; and Ana, Jestin, and Kyler Elsea of Fort Belvoir, VA.Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Marie Gosnell; her brother, Richard Gosnell, and her husband, Herb.A private family graveside service will be held at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens on , 9, 2015. |

Obituary: Robert C. Saffell, age 88 formerly of Winter Park, Colorado, passed away 24, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. Robert was born 29, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He grew up in Seymour, Indiana. Robert attended West Point Academy and is a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Following his discharge from the Army he went into sales and was Vice President of Sales for INA Insurance . In 1968 he moved the family to Denver and worked in Real Estate Ranch Brokerage for Previews. In 1985 he purchased one of the first Coldwell Banker franchises, located in Winter Park, Colorado. Robert was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was an Elder and past President of the Congregation. He was also a member of the National Western Stock show and the Evergreen Rodeo Association. He was an incredible father and family man and especially enjoyed attending his grandkids sporting events, fishing trips with his boys and spending time with his friends and family in the Rocky Mountains. Robert is survived by his children: Dennis R. Saffell and wife Cyndie Saffell, Rick Saffell, and Beth Romero and husband Kevin Romero; grandchildren: Sean and Erik Saffell, Colton, Donna Paige and Lauren Romero. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Donna L. Saffell and brother Jim Hiner. Visitation will be , 2, 2017 from 1:00-2:00pm; graveside service will be at 2:00pm both at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and .
