Obituary: Born into a loving family with 2 brothers and 2 sisters Maria Caruso spent her childhood in her lovely seaside hometown of Gaeta, Italy before she grew into a beautiful young woman who was swept off her feet by a dashing young American Navy man named Joseph Spignese. Like most great love stories theirs was born of coincidence as Joe's ship by chance came to port in Gaeta which was also the home town of his parents who had immigrated to America years before. The two met and Joe knew he had found his angel. Love letters from the ship followed by wedding plans and marriage led them to eventually settle down in Oceanside, California where they shared their lives for 54 years with their two children and ultimately their families before Joe passed away in 2011. Maria was warm, kind and keenly intelligent, always quick to laugh and she was stunningly beautiful. Family was always her singular priority and the love she shared and sacrifices she made has had an impact on our lives that cannot be measured. Shes fondly remembered as Maria, Mom and Nana to the family she left behind which includes her daughter Karen, son-in-law Randy, grand children Andrea and Kristina and her husband Aaron, loving son and daughter in-law John and Jennifer, brothers and sisters Vince, Joe, Tina and Anna and their families. We have so many wonderful memories and will miss her deeply but rejoice knowing that she is once again with her beloved Joe. are under the direction of Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary, and Crematory, Oceanside, California. |
