Obituary: Vince Sepich lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on 29, 2014. Vince was born on 19, 1943 in Raton, New Mexico to the late Vance and Angie Sepich. Tragically, his father was killed in a coal mining accident when Vince was five and his brother, Charles, was one year old. The struggling family survived and became a true family unit. Angie kept her boys close and they developed into true gentlemen. A graduate of Raton High School in 1961, Vince continued his education at Texas Western in El Paso earning a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He later earned an MBA through Golden Gate University. completing college, Vince pursued a career in the United States Air Force as a pilot and began flying the F-102 Delta Dagger for the Air Defense Command. For two years, Vince flew protective cover missions for the bombing raids over North Vietnam. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with six to thirteen clusters and the Accommodation Medal. In 1969, Vince married Kathy, his wife of 44 years. 11 years In the Air Force and two daughters, the family relocated to Thousand Oaks in 1979. Vince began a sales career in the machine tool industry and eventually became co-owner of a business until his retirement in 2008. Vince was a man of integrity, had a positive spirit and a generous heart. He had a true love of life, never- ending love and devotion to his family, an immense love of travel and never met a stranger. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Vince is survived by his wife Kathy, daughters Michelle Sepich (Douglas) and Karen Frost, granddaughters Amber and Kiera Frost, and brother Charles Sepich (Cindy). The family would like to send a very special hank you to everyone at Buena Vista Hospice. You are truly angels on Earth and we could not have made it through this without you. If you prefer to make a donation in Vinces name, please donate to Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or Buena Vista Hospice. Obituary: 6, 1923- 22, 2011 Fred J. Sepic, life-long resident of Humboldt , died in Eureka on 22, 2011 at the age of 88. Fred was born in Samoa, Calif. on 6, 1923, the 7th of eight children of Anthony Sepic, who immigrated from Mrkopalj, Yugoslavia in 1896, and Franceka (Susilich) Sepic who joined him in Eureka in 1901. The family moved, in 1924, to their homestead on Harrison Avenue where the current Blood Bank is now located. Freds younger days were spent working the family farm, where they raised animals and sold their vegetables to Safeway. Fred spoke fondly about the pond that he built as a youngster on the stream at the bottom of Buhne St. and stocked with trout that he had caught. Fred graduated from the old Worthington School and Eureka High. In spite of a bout with diphtheria, Fred was active in sports. graduation, Fred enlisted in the Army. He crossed the Atlantic in the Queen Mary, saw action in the European theater, and met Gen. Eisenhower. the war Fred returned to Eureka, met and married his first wife Shirley (Lane). The two boys, Bill and Harty, were raised in a loving home full of love and respect. Fred also began his career as Manager of Sepics Auto Supply, owned by his brother Emerick. Fred became an excellent auto parts man and recreational outboard motor specialist. He was meticulous in his work, which caused his clients to continually seek him out long after his retirement. In 1966, Fred met and married his 2nd wife, Joyce Hooven. were married for 36 years. He and Joyce enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, hunting, water-skiing, and other family activities with Joyces children and grandchildren. also traveled extensively across the U.S. and Canada. Reno, Las Vegas, and Laughlin were their favorite trips. He was a devoted follower of the SF Giants and the SF 49ers. In the late 1980s, after more than 40 years in business, the Auto supply store closed, and Fred retired. Retirement meant more camping trips with their trailer and the family. Fred enjoyed playing Pinochle and was quite the family competitor on camping trips. Joyces death in 2004, Fred met a former high school classmate, Iris Jordan. were married for three years until Iriss passing. Fred became re-acquainted with Margaret Johnson, a former high school classmate, in 2008. He was very active until recently, and Margaret was a special friend when his health started to fail. Fred was preceded in death by his 1st wife Shirley; 2nd wife Joyce; 3rd wife Iris; parents Anthony and Franceka Sepic; brothers, John, Anthony Jr., Emil, Emerick Sepic; sisters, Helen Sepic, Anna (Sepic) McDonald, Rose (Sepic) Davlin; nephew Ronald Sepic; and stepson Felix Hooven, Jr. Fred is survived by step-children William Hutchins, James Hutchins, Eugene Hooven, Beverly (Hooven) Howard, Camille (Rankin) Brown, Dennis Rankin, Rick Rankin, their spouses, grandchildren and step-grand children; nieces Sandra Hanley, Linda Pectol, Donna Doud; nephews Kenneth Davlin, Angus MacDonald, David MacDonald; brother-in-law Robert Papke; and close friend Margaret Johnson. Freds families will miss his quick smile, wit, and his stories about his youth and Army experiences. Special thanks to St. Joseph Hospital and the staff for their special care. Fred requested no services. His cremains will be placed in Blue Lake alongside Joyce Sepic. A family celebration of his life will be held in the near future.
