Obituary: OJAI Beverly Sageser, age 74, passed away on , 8, 2011 with her husband by her side. Bev, as she was known to all, was taken to heaven after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. The faith and inner strength she portrayed throughout her illness was certainly something to behold. Bev was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and although she was not afraid of death, it was quite apparent she did not want to leave her family. Bev was born in Loma Linda, California on 27, 1936, the oldest of three children, to Nadine and Byron Harkins. She spent her early childhood growing up in Beaumont and Pasadena, California. When she was 10 years old, her family settled in Burbank, California where she graduated from John Burroughs High School. While in high school, Bev found her beautiful singing voice and spent time singing in the choir. She also met the love of her life, Bob whom she married in1955 just one year after their high school graduation. honeymooned in Carmel, California, which became one of their favorite places. Bev and Bob returned to Carmel each year and it quickly became heir place during the 56 years they were married. During the first several years of marriage, Bev worked in banking before having children, at which time she chose to remain home to take care of her family. She found great joy in being a mother to her three daughters. She created a warm, loving home environment and was a strong influence in her daughters lives, teaching them solid morals and principals while providing spiritual guidance as well. She also had a passion for baking and her baked goods (especially her pies) garnered many a compliment from family and friends. She was very talented with cake decorating as well and seemed to produce the most beautiful cakes for any occasion. She was told many times that she should open her own bakery; however, she was very content just baking at home. In addition, Bev was a wonderful seamstress and made many outfits for her girls over the years. Later on, Bev and Bob became enchanted with the little town of Ojai, California and soon afterwards relocated from Burbank to Ojai where they have lived for 33 years. Shortly after arriving in Ojai, they took up tennis and enjoyed many years as members of the Ojai Racquet Club where they developed many close friendships. Bev also found her passion for designing and decorating houses, which she put to good use during the building of their two custom homes. Bev is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ted; daughters, Teri and Kristy; brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Kyong; and sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Larry. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Ashley, Chad, Bryant and Sara, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bev was preceded in death by her father, Byron, and mother, Nadine. A private memorial service is being held , 13 to celebrate Bevs wonderful life. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, but her loving spirit and kindness will live on in the hearts of the countless people whose lives she touched. Obituary: Ralph Eugene Sager – “Gene” 75 years old of Hesperia, California, went to be with the Lord and his two brothers evening, 7pm, 27th, 2014 after a long struggle with Dementia disease. His family and friends affectionately knew him as “Gene”. Gene was born in Michigan, 14th 1939, and was married and together with Reba Mansell since 1963. Three sons, five daughters, nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren survive him. Gene Sager enjoyed golfing and was excellent at playing shuffleboard, shooting pool and loved playing cards regularly with family and friends. Gene worked at Consolidated Freightways in Mira Loma and Santa Fe Springs California for nearly forty years as a freight handler and was an expert forklift operator. He was known, as a Gentle Giant by his co-workers. Gene was truly the Best Husband, Dad, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle, Father-In-Law, Brother, Son, Brother-In-Law, Friend and Co-Worker Anyone Could Ever Have! Gene was a Very Loving, and a Very Generous man. He is loved and Missed by hundreds of family members and friends. May God rest his soul and keep him near. We Will All See You Soon and Be Together Again in Heaven. |

Obituary: Mary Lou Sager, of Riverside, California, peacefully departed this life on May 9, 2015. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Edna Mae Mennes , her sister Patty Bacca, and her husbands (from both of whom she was widowed), Gordon Martin and Lloyd Sager. Born in Glendale, CA on 16, 1929, Mary graduated from high school in Fullerton, CA and attended Cal State Fullerton. She choreographed and taught dance for 9 years at The Richards-Martin School of Dance in Anaheim where her mother, Mae, played piano. Mary and Gordon were married for 9 years and had one son, Kim, before Gordon passed away. Mary and Lloyd were married in 1960, and for the next 31 years, they raised a wonderful family, while operating several PIP printing stores, which they owned throughout San Bernardino . For over 20 years, Mary was an avid supporter of The Literacy Council and volunteered as a tutor of English as a Second Language. Mary is remembered for her delightful humor, her talent as a dancer, keyboardist, and teacher, her keen eye for decorating, and especially for her ease with people, as she ever met a stranger. Mary lovingly devoted her life to her family. Left to carry on her beautiful memory are her sons Kim Martin and wife Lena, Glenn Sager and wife Diane, her daughter Holly Sager, and step-daughter Christine Sager Deeble, her grandchildren Eric Martin, David Martin, Rheanne Sager, Hailey Sager, step-grandson Randal Deeble, and her great-grandchildren Kierra, Anton, Cole, and Rock Martin. The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the years of loving care and friendship which the dedicated team of caregivers at Sunrise Canyon Crest, and for the past 2 months Vitas Hospice, so earnestly provided.
