Obituary: Mrs. Helen Wyatt Strawn went to be with the Lord on , 24th, at the age of 83. Helen is survived by her step daughter, Catherine S. Padgett (Hershel) of Leeds, AL and brothers, Kenneth O. Wyatt and William A. Wyatt (Pat) of Harpersville, AL. She is also survived by two grandsons, Charles Padgett (Holly) of Moody, AL and Matt Padgett of Tuscaloosa, AL; nieces, Kim Wyatt, Kaye Childree (Mike), and Michelle Arrowood of Harpersville; and nephews, Bryan Wyatt of Trussville, AL and Michael Wyatt of Dallas, TX; Helen is also loved by 2 great grandchildren, Sadie and Drew, and lots of great nieces and nephews. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Rufus Strawn; her parents, Ernest and Anna Lee Wyatt; her sister-in -law, Martha S. Wyatt; and nephew Kenneth Chip Wyatt, Jr. Helen Ruth Wyatt was born on 2, 1934 in Harpersville, AL. She was a graduate of Vincent High School. Helen retired from State Farm after almost 40 years of service as a draft typist, division secretary, and claims representative. She married Samuel Rufus Strawn in 1971. were married for over 25 years. Helen and Sam enjoyed traveling, spending time on Lake Tuscaloosa, and entertaining family and friends. Helen also enjoyed cooking, decorating, and shopping. Helen was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and lived out her last days at East Glen in Trussville. service is scheduled for , 1st at 11am with visitation an hour prior at Ridouts Trussville Chapel, with graveside at Jefferson Memorial Gardens to follow. Bro. Mike McLemore will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Helens life. |

Obituary: Service will be at 2:00 p.m. , 30, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Edna Faye Strawn, 84, of Gadsden who passed away , 27, 2017. Rev. James O. Wallace will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood . Collier-Butler and Cremation Services will direct. Mrs. Strawn attended Etowah High School and was an avid bowler years ago. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and attended Higher Ground Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. Strawn; brothers, Howell Blevins, Bobby Blevins and John Blevins, Jr. Survivors include her children, Wanda Butler and Anita (Mackey) Hester; grandson, Blake Butler; great grandson, Clayton Butler and sister-in-law, Shirley Strawn. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family extends special thanks to the staff with Amedisys Hospice; Gadsden and Rehab ; Dr. Debora Reiland and Dr. James Robinson. Kim was a 1984 graduate of Baker High School and member of the National Honor Society. She was Baptist by faith and loved solving cross word puzzles, reading, gardening, and decorating, but her passion was her grandchildren. She loved her family. A Celebration of Kims Life will be , 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
