She was preceded in death by her father: Leonard S. Ozley and her daughter-in-law, Stanford. She is survived by her sons: Jeff Stanford and Jason Stanford, both of Montgomery, AL; her mother Polly Ozley, Columbus, GA; her brother: James F. Ozley, Phenix City, AL; her sister: Patricia O. Jones (J. Robert), Columbus, GA; six grandchildren: Brian Stanford, (Kourtney); Brittany Stanford Wenzelow, (Stephen); Macie Stanford; Morgan Stanford; Emily Stanford, Taylor Kennedy; two great-grandchildren: Addison Stanford and Jude Wenzelow; and several nieces and nephews. Obituary: James Arthur Stanford, Jr. 03, 1951 – 11, 2014 James Arthur Stanford, Jr., 63, passed away peacefully at home evening 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Stanford was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Wilson Stanford in 2004. Mr. Stanford is survived by his father, James Arthur Stanford, Sr.; his loving wife of 14 years, Sherdian Francis Stanford; son, Justin Stanford; daughter, Serina Stanford; sister, Debbie Stanford; brother, Steve Stanford (Angie); 2 grandsons, Silas Stanford and Cillain Stanford; and 2 nephews, Sam and Jay Stanford. “Jim” graduated Lee High School in 1969 and continued education at Faulkner University in Huntsville. He obtained his Juris Doctorate at Jones School of Law in Montgomery in 2000. Admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 2001, Jim loved to practice law and specialized in Consumer Advocacy and considered himself the common man’s friend. He loved golf and fishing, especially with his dog “Willie” by his side. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many! You may visit with the family at Valhalla on , 15, 2014, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 pm. There will be a funeral service conducted by Brother Mickey Johnson commencing at 2:00 pm in Valhalla’s chapel. Obituary: 1st Sergeant Carl Lay Stanford, USMC (Retired) Carl Lay (Sonny or Sarge) Stanford, age 85 of Birmingham, AL passed away Jan. 10, 2015. He was born to Carl and Mary Stanford on May 28, 1929 in Birmingham, AL, and graduated from Shades Cahaba High School. Following graduation from high school Carl joined the U.S. Marine Corp and remained in the Marines for the next 23 years and retired as a First Sergeant. Following retirement from the Marines Carl moved back home to Birmingham. Carl is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mary Lay Stanford and a sister Mary Jean Skelton. He is survived by one brother Robert V. Stanford (Patricia), nephews David, Don, and Danny Skelton and a host of grand nieces and nephews, and Charlie Scott who was like a son to Carl, and his son, Paul, who was like a grandson.
