Obituary: Glen Loftin Searcy, a resident of Wicksburg, went to be with the Lord morning, 9, 2011. He was 94. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. , 12, 2011 at Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood and Rev. Brian Presley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. on prior to service time. Flowers are being accepted or memorials may be made to Pilgrim Baptist Church, Senior Saints, 13534 U.S. Hwy 84 West, Newton, AL 36352. Mr. Searcy was born 23, 1916 in the Jellico Community where he lived most of his life. On Nov. 20, 1945 he married Mary Nell Parker Searcy. He was a veteran of World II having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS New Mexico. He was employed with Speigner Marble for several years and later worked with Hayes Aircraft at Napier Field until his retirement. He was also employed with Kmart. He enjoyed gardening and was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Mr. Searcy is predeceased by his wife, Mary Nell Parker Searcy, brothers and sisters, Mildred Searcy Godwin, Addie Searcy Tate, Loyce Damon Searcy, Grover Eugene Searcy, Pauline Searcy Cannon, Fred Searcy and James Lester Searcy. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Peggy Searcy; a daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Billy Kibler; grandchildren, Brian Searcy his wife, Melody, Wesly Kibler, Holly Ramey and her husband, Trey; great-grandchildren, Loftin Searcy and Noah Searcy; a sister, Gwendolyn Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Elva Bolds and Clara Mae Parker; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hartford and especially the nurses and CNAs that took care of our dad. |

Obituary: Walter Lomax Sealy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on 29, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born on 17, 1936 in Sweetwater, Alabama, the youngest child of Claude and Addie Mae Sealy. Upon graduation from high school he worked briefly for the FBI in Washington, DC. He married Martha Gaddy Sealy on 23, 1958 and shortly thereafter served in the US Army, stationed primarily in Germany. Upon discharge he began his career with Lance Incorporated; rising to the position of Branch Manager and retiring after 35 years. Along the way he and Martha had two children, Phyllis Bednarz (Mathew) and Phillip Sealy (Lori), and three grandchildren (Madison Bednarz, Joshua Sealy, and Elizabeth Sealy). Walter dearly loved his family, his church (he was a member of Perry Hill United Methodist Church for over 40 years), playing golf with friends, singing in the church choir, and all things Alabama (Roll Tide!). He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers (Ernest Sealy and Leonard Sealy). He is survived by his wife of 57 years, his children, their spouses, his grandchildren, a sister (Voncile Turner), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be night 1, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Leak Memory Chapel. The funeral service will be 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Perry Hill United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Mark Osgood. Friends and family will be received beginning at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Perry Hill United Methodist Church, 910 Perry Hill Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109. |
