Obituary: Alfred Donald Sidwell, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 4, 2014, at his residence. He was born Aug. 14, 1936, in Wirt , a son of William and Amanda Williams Sidwell. Over the years, Alfred was a 23-year Army Veteran, having served in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he was employed by the Wood Board of Education for 24 years as a Wood bus driver. Alfred was a member of the NRA, VFW, and an avid fisherman and hunter. He is survived by his wife, Vena Miihlbach Sidwell; one son, Alfred (Jennifer) Sidwell Jr. of Whipple, Ohio; one daughter, Loretta (William) Wright, Jr. of Parkersburg; one brother, Frank Sidwell of Elizabeth; two sisters, Della Pauline Gillespie of Parkersburg, and Jane Owens of Ohio; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Lester, Emery, Harley, Freddie, and Gervis; five sisters, Minnie Baileys, Dellie Cummings, Glady Carpenter, Lena Jones, and Effie Sidwell; and one grandchild, Joshua T. Wright. Services will be 1 p.m., , Jan. 7, at Sunset Memorial , Parkersburg, with Rev. Mark Watkins and Rev. Mary Zimmer. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Obituary: William Claude Siders, 79, of Campbells Creek, passed away on , 28, 2015, at his residence. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Charleston on 14, 1935, to the late William Cody and Rena Mae Gill Siders. Claude was a retired United States Air Force Chief Senior Master Sergeant serving during the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam era and was also retired from the United States Postal Service. He attended Springfork Missionary Baptist Church. Claude was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Anna M. Siders; daughter, Kelly Ann Siders Woods; and sister, Joann Siders. He is survived by sons, Claude Donald Siders and Dale Cody Siders, both of Campbells Creek; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. , May 1, 2015, at Stevens & Grass , Malden, with Pastor Mike Long officiating. The burial will follow the service with military honors in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. Family and friends will gather for the visitation , 30, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. |

Obituary: Darlene Sickles Darlene Avenel Sickles, 75, of Fairmont passed away on , 2, 2015 at Fairmont Regional Medical . She was born in Marion on 3, 1939 a daughter of the late Harry William Copen and Goldie Catherine Ingram Copen. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Harold Denward Sickles. Darlene was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and Diet-Right Weight Loss class at the John Manchin . Darlene enjoyed life and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her Victory Baptist Church Family and her friends at the Diet Right Weight loss class. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Harold Denward Sickles, Jr. and his wife Hazel of Fairmont and Matthew Mark Sickles and his wife, Barbara of Core; two daughters, Darlene Anette Lemmon and her husband Gary of Wayne and Angel Dawn Guthrie of Dallas, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Heather Dawn McCoy and her husband George, James Sickles, Charity Ritchie, Sam Lemmon, Trista Guthrie and Logan Sickles and several great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, David Copen and his wife Edna of Parkersburg, John Copen and his wife Rose of Florida and Harry Copen and his wife Cathy of Ridgeley; her sisters, Almira Pattison and her husband Bill of Maryland and Nancy Abernathy and her husband James of Keyser; a brother-in-law, Fred Klinestiver and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by a sister, Willa Klinestiver. Friends and family may call at the Carpenter & Ford , 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on from 1pm to9pm and on from 11am to 1pm. The funeral service will be at 1pm on , 5, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Barker officiating. Interment services will follow at the Mt. Zion .
