Obituary: In Memory of Rose Mae Svor Rose Mae was born on May 1, 1928 in Foxholm, North Dakota. She was born to Christ and Johanna Christenson who came to the United States from Voersaa, Denmark. She departed this life on , 14, 2014 at home surrounded by family members and loved ones. Rose Mae graduated from Tioga High School in 1946. She married Maynard Orville Svor on 4, 1948. later moved to the Pacific Northwest and started their new life in Tacoma, Washington. She worked as a secretary at Boeing for several years until she became pregnant with their first child, Diane. Rose and Maynard built their first home in Renton, Washington finishing it in 1954. She was active in the school PTA, Bethlehem Lutheran Church and also enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, dancing and playing cards with friends. In 1963 Maynard and Rose adopted their only son, Maynard R. Svor as a young baby. Three years later, they adopted another child whom they named Leitha Renee Svor. Rose Mae proudly took pride in taking care of her new family. She continued doing so until Randy and Leitha were in High School. This is when she started working at J.C. Penney as a secretary for the next eight years. In 1981, Rose became a grandmother for the first time. She was exceptional at this job, and enjoyed every minute of this role. She later had nine more grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She lived her life for her family members, including being a personal caretaker for Randy, who had become disabled from a previous accident. Rose was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Erica Rose Green on 29, 2013 and Maynard Randall Svor on 7, 2014. are now together in peace. Rose Mae is survived by her husband, Maynard O. Svor of 65 years. She is also survived by her sister, Edna Lester of Tacoma, Washington and brother Clarence Christenson of Baton Rouge, Lousiana. Her children: Diane Potts (Ron Potts) of Gig Harbor, Wa and Leitha Svor (Al Green) of Wasilla, Alaska. Grandchildren: Anthony Spring, Angelina Helmick, Shaun Green, Scott Green, Arielle Potts, Jasmyn Green, Jacob Potts and Victor Potts. Great-grandchildren: Paxton Spring, Marlee Rose Spring and Iris. Rose was a Breast Cancer Survivor and walked in American Cancer Society's "Relay For Life" alongside of her granddaughter, Angelina, who is also a Cancer Survivor of Leukemia. The Svor Family wishes to thank: Bethlehem Lutheran Church Members for many years of support, friendship and kindness. Pastor Larry Cournoyer for many hours of patience and prayers. Obituary: Randy Svor was born on 7, 1963 in Seattle, Washington. He was adopted by Maynard Orville and Rose Mae Svor as a baby. He departed this life on , 7, 2014 at Valley Medical Hospital Emergency Room with his family by his side. Randy graduated from Renton High School in 1981 and later continued his education. He attended Bellevue Community where he graduated in 1991 with an Associates in Arts & Science. He then moved to Bellingham, WA where he proudly attended and graduated from Western Washington University with his teaching degree in English. He was working on his Masters, which he was close to achieving, when he became ill and had to move back to Renton, Wa to reside with his parents, Maynard and Rose Svor. Randy worked in Bellingham as a High School and English Teacher. He then became involved with the Housing Authority where he was named Commissioner Svor and it appeared that he took this role quite seriously. In his spare time he was an author, completing several books. He loved to attend movies with dad or friends and after he would write his commentary on Facebook. He was also an animal lover, leaving behind his beloved cat, Boo (who will continue to live with dad and mom). Last, but not least, Randy loved sports. His two favorite teams were the Mariners and Seahawks!!! He faithfully watched every game he could and was anticipating rooting for the Seahawks at Super Bowl this year. Our family will be watching it for him this year. Randy was preceded in death by his niece, Erica Rose Green on 29, 2013. are now together in peace. Randy is survived by his parents, Maynard Orville and Rose Mae Svor. Sisters, Leitha Renee Svor (Al Green) and Diane Marie Potts (Ron Potts). He was the best uncle we could ask for and loved eternally by his nephews: Anthony Spring, Shaun Green, Scott Green, Jacob Potts, Victor Potts and great-nephew Paxton Spring. His nieces: Angelina Helmick, Arielle Potts, Jasmyn Green and great nieces, Marlee Rose Spring and Iris. He also has many aunts, uncles and cousins that played a huge role in his life. The Svor Family wishes to thank: Virginia Mason Hospital and Clinic and all of the numerous doctors and nurses he became friends with in his lifetime.
