Obituary: James Armon Spooner passed away peacefully at home on 29, 2010. Jim was born on 17, 1922 in Bainville, Montana to Armon C. and Elizabeth Spooner. Jim grew up in Spirit Lake, Idaho. He graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1940. He served in the Army Air Force during WW II. Jim completed a combat tour as a bombardier and machine gunner on the B26 medium bomber in the European theater and participated in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. Jim graduated from the University of Idaho in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He taught high school business classes in Idaho, where he met his future wife, Charlotte Greenwood. married in 1950; Jim earned a Masters in Education at Eastern Washington State in 1952. He worked at five rural school districts in Washington settling in Cathlamet in 1961 where he was the high school principal and then school superintendent. In 1972 the family moved to Naches where he served as superintendent until his retirement in 1979. During his retirement he remained active at various jobs; including Perry Trade Tech., U.S. Census Bureau, and Yakima Meadows Race Track Jim had many interests; reading, horseracing, following the stock market, and was a loyal democrat He loved animals especially his favorite dogs Pooka and Griffey. He was an enthusiastic sports follower. Jim and Charlotte enjoyed many trips to Spring Training to watch their beloved Mariners while stopping at casinos along the way. Jim enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in many different sports, which included traveling to five different states. One of his greatest pleasures was watching his son-in-law Joe coach high school basketball. Jim is survived by Charlotte, his wife of 59 years, sons; Steve Spooner of Yakima, Scott Spooner of Selah, daughters; Becky Spooner of Seattle, Laura and son-in-law Joe Bales of Klickitat, Leslie Petty of Bothell and grandchildren, Megan and Kyle Petty. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Armon and Elizabeth Spooner, infant brother William, sister, Jean Bowers, and son-in-law, Bill Petty. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on , 3, 2010 at Naches Presbyterian Church, Naches, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Central Washington (2405 W. Birchfield Rd., Yakima, WA 98901) or Memorial & Hospice (1019 S. 40th Ave., Yakima, WA, 98908). Keith & Keith , Yakima, WA are in charge of arrangements. |

Obituary: David Spooner was born in Vancouver, Washington to Ralph and Shirley Relyea. His Father died when he was an infant. His Mother remarried and David was adopted by Richard Spooner David loved all machines and could design, repair and build anything mechanical. David attended Clackamas High School and then joined the U.S. Air Force. He served as an ordinance mechanic for S.A.C. David left the Service and married he love of his life Nyla Hainlen and became the Proud Father of his son Curtis. David built factories and assembly lines in the United States and around the world. Later he returned to his passion of driving Big Rigs [trucks]. David joined Blue Line / Cascade Transportation and enjoyed the company and wonderful staff for over 14 years. Driving Trucks suited David! David is survived by his beloved wife Nyla, his son Curtis, his parents Richard and Shirley Spooner, a brother Michael Spooner and sister Kathryn (Spooner) Brandeberry. David made friends easily, laughed, told stories, played hard and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved animals-dogs in particular-and was never without a Best Friend.
