Obituary: SUDDARTH, Doris Ritter, 86, of Midlothian, passed away on , 31, 2010. She was born in Omaha, Neb. on 22, 1924, daughter of the late Abner Ray and Mary Ryan Ritter. She is survived by her husband, Andrew J. Suddarth, Jr.; her children, Sandra Suddarth Gilliland and Teresa Suddarth Blake; four grandchildren, Heather G. Angel, Sean P. Gilliland, Ty D. Blake and Chad D. Blake; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah R. Angel. Mrs. Suddarth was a dedicated member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught School and was a Missionary. She retired from Hunton and Williams Law Firm, where she worked for many years. Obituary: Joanne Hanson Sucher, of Greenspring Village in Springfield, VA, formerly of Falls Church, VA, died 15 of cardiac issues. She was born in Jamestown, NY to John and Emmy Hanson, Swedish immigrants, and was a member of the a cappella choir, yearbook staff, and newspaper staff at Jamestown High School. Following high school graduation, she was recruited to work as a secretary for the CIA in Washington DC, where she was posted to Japan. There she met Jon Sucher, whom she married in 1958. One highlight of her CIA career was a work week spent as the personal secretary to Allen Dulles, then director of the CIA, in Hawaii. Following a posting to Bangkok, Thailand, the Suchers returned to the Washington DC area. Joanne worked as a secretary for Franklin Sherman Elementary School and USATREX International. She was a member of Falls Church Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986. Joanne is survived by her children: Ann (Alex) Aderton, Alan Sucher, and Jonathan (Gayle) Sucher; six grandchildren: David Aderton, Debbie Aderton, Stephen Aderton, Jonathan Sucher, Katharine Sucher, Andrew Sucher; one sister Louise Worden; she is pre-deceased by her sister Marguerite Ollos. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on , May 10 at the Chapel in Greenspring Village, 7420 Spring Village Dr, Springfield, VA. |
