Obituary: Neal Frederick Siebert, born to Thomas and Doris Siebert on 16, 1942 in San Mateo, California quietly passed away at home on 13, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. He served twenty years in the US Army with two tours of duty in Viet Nam, where he received many awards, including the Purple Heart. His assignments with the famed 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One), were apropos as he was soon after dubbed by friends throughout his life as Big Red and later Big Dog. retiring from the Army, he pursued a second 22-year Civil Service career with the Department of the Army. Serving as a senior intelligence production manager he received accolades and awards for his contributions highlighted by outstanding intelligence support during Desert Storm. His performance was rewarded with his selection as the Deputy G3 for the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command. He retired a second time in 2005, only to begin his third career in 2007 as the President of Information Technology Coalition in Alexandria. Over the past ten years, he travelled the world with his wife and volunteered regularly at the National for Missing and Exploited Children. He became a connoisseur of fine cigars and scotch and enjoyed sharing these with his many friends. Neal is survived by his wife of 33 years, KC Gray Siebert; his sister, Kristie Siebert Wilson; his second mom, Theresa Wagstaff Siebert; and his two godchildren, Leigh Hewlett Greene and Spencer Scott Moore. He was a very proud veteran, loving husband, and truly devoted to family and friends. A full military funeral will be scheduled to take place at the Arlington National at a date to be announced on his CaringBridge website.
