Obituary: Nicholas C. Stan 1920-2009 Nicholas C. Stan, our dearest husband, dad, and grandpa, returned to his Heavenly Father on 1, 2009 surrounded by loved ones at the Courtyard at Jamestown in Provo, Utah. Nick was born on 10, 1920, in Warren, Ohio to immigrant parents from Romania. His family moved to California where he grew up & eventually started his successful career in the automobile business. He married his lifelong sweetheart Ethel Brown from Lovell, Wyoming in 1949. Shortly after, they bought their first home in Concord Calif, where 2 daughters joined their family, & where they resided until Nick retired in 1985. Nick & Ethel then moved to Lake of the Pines near Auburn, CA & enjoyed 5 happy years there. In 1995, Nick felt the need to be closer to both daughters & grandchildren, so they re-located to Orem. Nick joined the LDS church in 1961 and the family was sealed in the Oakland Temple in 1963. He was an active member & served faithfully in various leadership/service positions throughout his life & found great joy in serving. Nick is survived by his wife Ethel, daugthers Debra (Dan) Bishop of Orem, Cheryl (Garth) Oberhansley of Lindon, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, George of Sacramento, CA. He is preceded by 2 sisters, Minerva Karavias and Eleanor Mascharoni. The family would like to give special recognition to his beautiful angels at the Enhanced unit at The Courtyard at Jamestown. We appreciate their selfless love & care they gave to dad in his final months. He truly loved each of them. Dad will be remembered most for his positive outlook on life, his knowledge & wisdom, & his ability to organize & lead. We are glad that he is now whole again & putting his unbelievable energy to its best use on the other side! services will be held on , 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Cascade 4\ Ward Chapel, 1051 East 200 North Orem, The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be held in the Orem City . |
