Obituary: Paul Vee Spencer, age 83, long time resident of Salem and Spanish Fork, Utah passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife and family on , 16, 2008. He was born 1, 1925 to Ida Shepherd and Henry Murt Spencer in Indianola, Utah. He was the 9th child of 14 children. He met his loving wife, Phyllis Beckstrom, and they were married 6, 1947. were later sealed in the Manti Temple on 28, 1964. Paul was a loving husband, an awesome Dad, and the greatest grandfather ever. He had nicknames for everyone and loved spending time with his family. He attended school in Fairview, Utah. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was an honorary member of the Diamond Fork Riding Club, and a member of the American Legion. Paul served in the Salem 1st Ward Bishopric and Salem City Council. He worked at Geneva Steel for 39 years. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; one son, Sterling (Paula) Spencer; four daughters, Tonya (Don) Williams; Idene (Gary) Christensen; Pennie (Dan) Nielsen; and Pattie (Ken) Post; sisters, Norma Norman; Thelma Edwards; and two brothers, Fred Spencer; O-Neil Spencer. A celebration of his life will be held on , 22, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Salem 1st Ward Chapel, 60 South Main Street, Salem. Family and friends may call on evening, 21, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork or on morning at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Salem City . The family wishes to thank the home health nurses that took such care of Paul, Deena McCloud and Bonnie Ballard. |

Obituary: Michael Jay Spencer 1953 – 2011 Michael Jay Spencer passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2011 surrounded by his family after a three year battle with cancer. He was born on 11th, 1953 in Salt Lake City to Max and Connie Spencer. He was married and sealed to his sweetheart Susan Myers on 4th, 1980 in the Manti, UT temple. Mike was a faithful member of the LDS church and served a mission in Paris, France. Although he had many callings throughout his life, none were as close to his heart as serving in the nursery. He was a kind and gentle man who loved, and was loved by, everyone he met. raising his family, Mike returned to BYU to finish his education and graduated in 2005 with a BFA in Visual Arts and a minor in English. He was a graphic designer at MonaVie, but music was his absolute passion. He loved to play guitar, sing, and write music. He continued to record songs and play with his bands – Thunderbuck Ram and Rock Daddy – to the end. He was an artist and dreamer with the soul of a poet and had a deep appreciation for the beauty in all aspects of life. His family would like to thank MonaVie for their kindness and support as well as Dr. Ward, Rosie, and the staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for their dedication to his care. Michael is survived by his wife Susan, children Scott, Jeff, Melissa (Aaron) Douglas, and James Spencer, mother Connie Spencer, sister Charleen (Sherland) Jackson, brothers Chris (Charlotte) Spencer, David (Darlene) Spencer, Rick Spencer and his band brothers Michael Berrett, Mark Miller, Kenny Seastrand, Jim Nelson, Jim Blackett and Vern Hiatt. Obituary: My cowboy rode away today. Lamon Kline Spencer, age 65 of West Mountain, passed away on 6, 2006 just 10 days short of reaching his goal of walking his youngest daughter down the isle. He gave a Valiant two year fight with Colon/Liver cancer. Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway. Our Hero. Lamon was born on the 13th of , 1941 in Escalante Utah to Kline and Leona Boyce Spencer. It was growing up in Escalante that he loved. His family moved to Provo in 1951 but his heart was always down there. He enjoyed going back whenever possible and teaching his children and grandchildren how to slide down the red rocks. Lamon attended the Escalante, Franklin, Dixon Jr. and Provo High Schools. He never shirked work. He learned at an early age the meaning of the word when he was just a small boy and would tromp the wool into sacks as well as hauling hay and many other duties. He was employed early on by Provo City. Then went to Bennett Paint where he started out learning the trade of Glazier. In 1962 he hired on with Jones Paint and Glass where he continued to work until the time of his death. Upon the anniversary of his 40 years there he received a trip to the Calgary Stampede. In 2004 he became the first recipient of the Harold B. Jones Lifetime Achievement Award. He took extreme pride in his work and always did a very professional job. He earned the respect of contractors and co-workers throughout the state. He entered into a job as he did most things with integrity and dedication. He passed his expertise and knowledge onto his sons some of which followed him into this trade. In 1957 Lamon married Helen Holmes, they have son Gregory Lamon and daughter Sabrina Lynn. Grandchildren: Greg, Justin, Robby, Zachary, Tylor, Kelsie and Lars. Lamon and Helen later divorced. Lamon married Coleen Duffield in 1963 they have sons David Von, Courtney (Cory) Lamon, and Branden Boyce. Grandchildren: Cody and Sidney Lamon and Coleen. Later divorced. On 29, 1986 Lamon married Judy Christensen. have daughters MetteKjistine and Audrae-Ellen. Grandchildren: Cassidy, Bailey-Rae, Presley, Ryley, Tegan, Nicole, Dustin, Sammy, Dusty, Ashley, Scott, Great Granddaughters Lexus and Skyler. Family was always first! Successfully blending a Yours, Mine, and Ours family. His favorite time was Fathers Day Weekend at the annual Mixed up Family Reunion held at the Cockleburr cabin., and the Christmas parties at our home. Lamon was the perfect example of love and service. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having baptized many children. He was a home teacher and served on the Activities Committee in his ward. An active member and past president of the Cockleburr Riding Club, eleven years co- chairman for their annual Demolition Derby. It was with the Riding clubs that he forged many lasting and dear friendships. Past member and President of the Hobble Creek Riding Club. Past President of the District Five Riding Clubs and was currently serving as a director with the USWRCA, also Past President of the Central Region. An accomplished horseman all his life. He loved riding and competing in his favorite event Team Penning with partners Jake and Robyn. The annual Desert ride, Moonlight ride, Couples ride. He taught his children and grandchildren to love it too. It was nothing for him to have a two week old baby up on horse back. Lamon was the perfect Sweetheart, Dad, Grandpa (Papa), Son, Brother, Brother in law and favorite Uncle. He was the best of a friend. A huge tease!! And always doing service for others. Survived by: his wife Judy , Payson; sons, Greg Cassingham, Provo; David Reeves, SLC; Cory (Wendy) Spencer, Payson; Branden Spencer, Topanga, CA; daughters; Sabrina (John) Gunderson, Copperton, UT; MetteKjistine (Jeff, currently serving in Iraq) McKenzie, Payson; Audrae-Ellen (Sam) Edwards, Payson; 20 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren; sisters, Virginia (William) King, Orem; Elva (Stephen B.) King, Moore, ID; Barbara (Vernon) Pearson, Pocatello ID; Arlene (Lin ) Pearson, Moore ID; Carol (Neil) Hocker, Washugal, WA; brother, Mark (Ranae) Spencer Provo; mother-in-law, Lorna Christensen, Evanston WY; brothers and sisters-in-law; Loren (Joan) Robinson, Roosevelt; LaVar Robinson, Springville; Pauline (Rett) Ashby, Provo; Margary (Bruce) Butler, Moroni; and Beth (Trent) Orr, WVC.
