Obituary: Born in Philadelphia in 1925 to Simon and Ida Sussman, Harold E. Sussman, brother of Milton Ellis Sussman, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on May 2, 2010 with his loving wife Ruth, and daughter Paula, by his side. Harold is survived by his wife, Ruth, his son Joel Sussman, his daughters Paula Sussman Abrams and Marjorie Sussman Love, and his granddaughters Sara and Rachel Abrams, and Katia and Alexis Sussman. Harold was a graduate of the Philadelphia of Textiles. Until 1969 he was a Partner at Middishade , a family-owned Philadelphia based mens clothing manufacturer, which was founded in 1902 by his grandfather, Mendel Sussman. Harold, always known as a mover and shaker, re-invented himself in the real estate business by joining Lanard & Axilbund, where he founded the firms retail division in 1973. In the workplace Harold was entertaining, vivacious, creative and loud; it was hard not to notice his unique qualities, including his work ethic and intense presence. Helping others was part of Harolds fabric: he helped everyone he knew, from new employees to corporate executives. Harold had a passion for children and assisted many inner city youths in attending summer camp through the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ of Philadelphia, PA. Harold was a dedicated patron of the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts, which included helping students display their artwork in corporate offices throughout Philadelphia. Harold was also a member of Philadelphias Union League. Harold and his wife, Ruth, enjoyed collecting antiques, particularly early American folk art. eventually retired, splitting their time between Pompano Beach, Florida and Bozeman, Montana. The couple later moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to their youngest daughter, Paula, and her family. Cremation has taken place and the family will schedule a memorial in Philadelphia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harolds honor to the charity of your choice. |

Obituary: Catalina Stoduto Sussman of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 93, in the comfort of her home and arms of her family on the morning of May 1st, 2015. Born to Italian immigrants, on 18th, 1921 in Asuncion Paraguay, she was the youngest daughter of seven children. In 1944, on scholarship, she followed her love of adventure and spirit of wanderlust to Rochester, New York, where she earned a degree from Nazareth . She returned to Paraguay to care for her ailing father, all the while never forgetting her love for the United States and planning her return. Her dream became a reality when she returned in 1949 to attend Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Again on scholarship, she earned her Masters Degree in Social Work and met the love of her life, her late husband Edgar Bismark Sussman of Toledo, Ohio. One of the first women to serve as a juvenile probation officer for the State of Texas, within a few years she joined of the Texas Youth Commission as a juvenile parole officer. In the latter part of her career, she founded on behalf of the Commission, the first Volunteer Coordinator Program dedicated to engaging Texas communities and mentors with juveniles on the road to rehabilitation and positive life changes. She retired from TYC in 1984. While her professional accolades were impressive, they pale in comparison to the love and sacrifices she made for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Marie Lynch; granddaughter, Cathleen Lynch-Linkenauger and her husband Jeff; and great grand-daughter, Catherine Lucille Linkenauger. Her enormous and contagious personality, wealth of selflessness and friendly smile will be sorely missed by all of the lives she touched. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated , May 7th at 9:30 a.m., at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with a reception to follow. Obituary: Benjamin B. Susen, 84 of Leander passed away on 9, 2015. Ben was born 5, 1931 to Mr. and Mrs. Willie Susen in Kovar, Texas. Ben was loved and respected by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. He joined the Navy when he was 18 years old serving tours in Korea and Vietnam on multiple ships as a torpedo man first class. He gave his all to everything he ever did. retirement from the Navy in 1970 he embarked on a second career in heating and air conditioning, after retiring from Climate Engineering he once again proved how dedicated and talented he was by becoming a real estate agent where he worked at his wifes company; Betty L. Susen Real Estate. successful careers he moved on to being the main care taker of his wife when she became ill. Ben always put everyone else first and this is only one of many qualities that made Benjamin Susen the incredible husband, father and grandfather he was. He will always be in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and his wife Betty L. Susen. He is survived by son Tom Susen and wife Debbie; daughter Lena Costello and husband David, grandsons David Susen, Brian Bennett and wife Jessica, granddaughters Sabrina and Tiffany Susen, great-granddaughter Sophia Grace Bennett, sister Dorothy Rabel and husband James, and many nieces and nephews.
