Obituary: Bryan E. Strode, Jr., born 29, 1933 in Houston, TX passed away , 23, 2012 with his family at his side. Bryan graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, TX in 1951 and from Texas A&M in 1955, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He married Carol Oliver in 1957 and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Bryan was a Captain in the Air Force and served in the Strategic Air Command as a B-47 pilot. leaving the Air Force, Bryan worked for 40 years in the insurance business. Bryan enjoyed 70 years of building free-flight model airplanes and was a member of the Society of Antique Modelers, the Academy of Model Aeronautics and the Tri-City Flyers. He was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Bryan Strode. Bryan is survived by his wife Carol, son Mike (Peggy), daughter Stacy (Kevin), son Marc (Paige), and grandchildren Margaret, Bryan, Mason, Amy, Curran, Maverick, Raleigh and Bo. Obituary: Elizabeth Audress Horbach Strockbine went to be with our Lord on 17, 2009. She was born on 7, 1919 in Locust Dale, PA, and lived most of her life in Ashland, PA where she enjoyed a 35-year career as a seamstress. In 2003, she moved to San Antonio, TX to live with her daughter and family. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Strockbine; her parents, Leroy and Jenny Horbach; and 5 brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Martha Horbach of Kulpmount, PA, and Hannah Horbach and Edna Calvert of Ashland, PA; daughter and son-in-law Darlene and James Gallagher of San Antonio, TX; 3 grandsons, James Gallagher and wife Lisa, Jeffrey Gallagher and wife Laura, and Kevin Gallagher and wife Cynthia; and 6 great-grandchildren, Sean, Evan, Megan, Jamie, Jack and Ryann; and many nieces and nephews. Moving to Texas in 2003 was a blessing in that it provided her a greater opportunity to share in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she was a faithful member of the womens group and the altar guild. She attended Abiding Presence Lutheran Church while living in San Antonio, TX. Obituary: EDNA - Linda Kaye Strnadel, 53, of Edna, passed away , 24, 2010. She was born 19, 1957 in San Marcos the daughter of Donald and Millie Faye Kratzer. She was a data analyst with Dow Chemical and later with Invista. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral where she was involved with A.C.T.S. She truly loved all of her A.C.T.S. sisters and brothers. Linda lived for the weekend and enjoyed her time off. If she wasn relaxing at home she could usually be found pitching washers, catching big red fish, deer hunting or spending time with the "Group". She always looked forward to spending time in the pool with the grandkids and the annual trips to Fredericksburg. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Strnadel of Edna; daughter, LaTisha De La Garza of Victoria; son, Chase De La Garza of Victoria; sister, Diana Hamilton of Winnie; and brothers, Donald Kratzer of Victoria and Ronald Kratzer of New Orleans. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Morgan Kate De La Garza, Rylee Saige De La Garza and Drake Wesley De La Garza, all of Victoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her step-father, Glenn Dearsan. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. today, 26, 2010 at Colonial . A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Obituary: CHARLES J. (CJ) STRNADEL, JR. Charles Joseph (C.J.) Strnadel, Jr. of Inez, Texas passed away on, , 25, 2015 at the age of 93. C.J. was born on , 3, 1921 in the Plainview Community south of Hillje, Texas. He was the eldest of four children born to Charles J. Strnadel, Sr. and Lucille Huvar Strnadel. He attended school at the Plainview School for the first nine grades and then attended the tenth and eleventh grade in El Campo, Texas. He graduated from high school in May, 1940. graduating from high school, he attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. He joined the Army Air Corps in , 1942, in the listed reserves and continued to attend college until , 1943, when he was called to active duty. He was sent to Miami, Florida for basic training. basic training, he was sent to Denver, Colorado to Armament School for three months. Armament School he was sent to a new B-24 training base in Mountain , Idaho. a year, he was sent to another B-24 training base in Tonopah, Nevada. In 1945 he was sent to gunnery school in Las Vegas, Nevada, for training as a gunner on the new B-29s which were being placed into service. gunnery school, he was assigned as a B-29 right waist gunner with a crew of eleven and sent to Alamogordo, New Mexico, for training. While getting ready for a flight early one morning in , 1945, he saw the flash of the first atomic bomb being tested some 90 miles away at the White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico. While still in training, the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima in Nagasaki, Japan and the war ended in , 1945. The orders for his crew to deploy to Okinawa to bomb Japan were cancelled and he was discharged at Camp Fannin in Tyler, Texas in early , 1946. In , 1949, he enrolled at the University of Texas to continue his education and was a member of the U. T. Track and Cross Country Team. He was a letterman in Track at Texas in 1946 and became a member of the T-Association. He received his B.S. degree in 1947 and his Masters of ED. degree in 1948. He began his teaching career in the fall of 1948 at East Bernard School District in East Bernard, Texas. In the fall of 1949, he was employed by the Industrial School District in Vanderbilt, Texas. being a Junior High teacher and coach in Vanderbilt, he was assigned as Principal of the Inez Elementary School in , 1952. He remained as Principal until his retirement in , 1985. On 6, 1949, he married Albertha Schmidt. were married in the Wharton Catholic Church by Father John Campbell. He and his loving wife Albertha, continue to make their home in Inez. C.J. enjoyed fishing, hunting, working with cattle and gardening. He also enjoyed many sporting activities. He was a little league and teenage league coach when his children were growing up. He was a member of the U.T. T-Association, a life member of the Inez Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Albertha, his daughters Carolyn Swenson and husband Carl of Inez, Lynette Migl and husband George of Raisin, Texas and son Charles Strnadel, III and his wife Carolyn of Inez. He is also survived by granddaughter, Cheyenne Migl of Raisin, Texas and granddaughter-in-law, Sarah Strnadel and great granddaughter, Cadence Strnadel of Victoria, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Benich of Hillje, Texas and Lorraine Rod Green and husband Len of Conroe, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Charles Strnadel, IV, and brother John N. Strnadel. Visitation will be held , 29, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Inez, Texas, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on , 30, 2015 at 10 am. Interment with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria Veterans Council will follow at St. Joseph Catholic . Pallbearers are Ronald Rod, Chuck Rod, Tony Benich, Tim Benich, Chris Benich, James McConnell, Randall Schmidt and Harvey Skow. Mary Ann was a hardworking, respectable woman who while raising three children worked alongside her husband and later for [the] Taylor Bedding . An avid Polka dancer who would spin until her hearts content, Mary Ann enjoyed dancing, gardening and laughing. She was a member of the K.J.T. lodge and St. Marys Catholic Church. Mary Ann was preceded in death her parents, her husband Jerry, her sister Lilian and her five brothers Jim, Joe, Victor, Emil and Bill. She is survived by her daughters Betty Ann Naivar (& husband James) of Taylor, Texas, and Linda Strmiska of Smiley, Texas and her son Jason Strmiska (& partner Stuart) of Chicago, Illinois, Grandsons Brandon Naivar (& wife Tammy) of Taylor, Texas, Dustin Naivar (& wife Kristen) of Taylor, Texas and Jackson Strmiska-Nemerov of Chicago, Illinois. Great-granddaughter Brooklyn Naivar of Taylor, Texas. Brothers John Stefek (& wife Cecilia), Raymond Stefek (& wife Helen), George Stefek (& wife Dorothy) and Sister-in-law Martha Stefek. Visitation will be held on 9, 2016 from 6pm-8pm at Condra with a Rosary at 7pm. A Mass will be held on 10, 2016 at 2pm with burial to follow at St. Marys Catholic . Pallbearers will be Jason Strmiska, James Naivar, Brandon Naivar, Dustin Naivar, Nephews Chris Stefek and Larry Stefek. Obituary: Margie L. (Neitsch) Strmiska 72 of Taylor, received her eternal healing as her Lord and Savior called her home on the morning of 23, 2011. She was born 10, 1938 to loving parents Edward Sr. & Ruby (Green) Neitsch in Weir, TX. She lived her life working very hard providing for her family of which she loved very much . She gave her best each day because she said each day she was living for the Lord and it showed in every thing she did and said. Always full of laughter, she made everyone around her smile. She loved to spend her time building and decorating miniature dollhouses of which she then gave away. Her sense of humor was priceless. Even through her illness her faith never waivered, it only grew stronger. Margie was the only girl out of 5 children. On 15, 1956 she married Frank J. Strmiska. The Lord blessed them with 5 children. Roxann Tschoerner and husband Terry of Taylor, Ricky Strmiska of Taylor, Vickie Strmiska and fiancé Michael Vrana of Taylor, Rusty Strmiska and wife Rosemary of Coupland, and Tammy Eulenfeld and husband Craig of Taylor. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. Her passion was her children and grandchildren Jordan Tschoerner and fiancée Lacey Louk, Tracy Tschoerner, Tara Eulenfeld, Jena Eulenfeld and great grand child Trinity Tschoerner. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her parents, 1 brother Milton Wayne Neitsch and infant son Dusty. She is survived by her brothers Edward Neitsch Jr., Carlton Nietsch, and David Neitsch. Visitation will be held 25th from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Condra . services will be 26 at 10:00 a.m. in Condra Memorial Chapel with Msgr Lonnie Urban officiating. Interment will follow in St. Marys cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jordan Tschoerner, Randy Tschoerner, Gerald Ballard, Edilberto Lopez, Terry Eulenfeld and Chad Hendrix. under the direction of Condra , Taylor, TX. |
