Obituary: Services with full military honors for Raymond Bruce Stewart, 84, of Copperas Cove will be 10 am , 2015 at Crawford-Bowers Chapel. Rev. Tim Crosby of Trinity Baptist Church of Gatesville will officiate. Burial will follow in the Copperas Cove City . Mr. Stewart passed away 30, 2014 in Gatesville. He was born 12, 1930 in Perry, Oklahoma to Seth and Myrtle Marie Stovall Stewart. On 28th, 1950 he married his high school sweetheart, Catherine Garton in Niangua, MO. moved to the Copperas Cove area in 1971 coming from the Netherlands. Before entering the military, Raymond worked for Patton Creamery in Springfield, MO. He joined the US Army on 29, 1949 and retired on 31, 1975. He completed more than 25 years of service including tours in Korea and Vietnam. He and Catherine were very active in the community and were the founders of the Double C Square Dance Club and members of the VFW Post 8577. his military service, Mr. Stewart was long haul truck driver for over 26 years, and an auctioneer. Because of his truck driving career he could tell you where most of the McDonalds restaurants were in the country. Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine on May 21, 2009; two brothers, Robert Stewart who was killed in action during WWII and Charles Bus Stewart; and a sister, Alice Merritt. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Debra E. Jones and husband, Randy, of Gatesville and Danette Lynn Stewart of Grand Prairie; grandson and his wife, Christian David and Holly Huston and two great grandsons, Hayden David and Saeger Thomas Huston, all of Saginaw, TX. A sister, Ruth Bullard of Springfield, Missouri and a brother and sister in law, William Bill and Dorothy Stewart of Arco, Idaho. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Memorial Bible Chairman, Copperas Cove Camp, Gideons International, P.O. Box 460, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. The family will have a time of visitation on from 2 to 4 pm at Crawford-Bowers in Copperas Cove. |

Obituary: Pearlie "Jean" Clawson Stewart 30th 1928- 12th 2014 Born in Franklin TX. Jean lived in the East Texas area graduating high school at Mt Vernon, and later went to business college in Dallas. She met Hollis Stewart on a blind date and after going together for four years, married on Sept 20, 1953, in a private home ceremony. There she gave Hollis the $10 for the preacher, and he wore a borrowed suit. She lived in Dallas preparing them a home until she joined him at Big Springs, TX and lived in a "chicken shack" while he served in the Air Force. Together they accepted Jesus, 25, 1960, by going to the altar hand in hand. have served the Lord faithfully ever since. worked helping build Calvary Tabernacle Church in Grand Prairie, where she served as secretary for several years. moving to the Decatur area, they attended Alvord Assembly of God and more recently attended Hilltop Assembly of God in Boyd, TX. She is retired from Dallas Tax Office. Her hands have touched many lives through the years, by seeing needs that others would not see or know about, and by preparing and sharing many meals with others. She had a ministry of sending encouraging cards to shut-ins. A quiet woman of prayer and Bible reading, taking her troubles to the Lord. Survived by daughter Barbara Moore and husband Noel, son Robert Stewart, grandson Chadwick Moore, granddaughters Elisha Martin and husband Eric, Heather McCallister and husband Mason, great-grandson Brayden Polly, and great-granddaughter Annabelle Martin. Preceeded by parents Novella Mote Clawson and W W Clawson, brothers Oscar, Charmie, J.B., and Bo Clawson. Pallbearers are Robert Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Chadwick Moore, Noel Moore, Eric Martin, and Mason McCallister. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. Fred Curry, Mr. Claiborn Young, and brother- in-law, Vernon Wayne Stewart. Pastor Bill Fitch officiating service.
