Obituary: James Robert Stastny, Jr., 59, passed away on May 31, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on 27, 1954, in Victoria, Texas, to the late James and Madeline Maggie Neisser Stastny, Sr. James retired from DuPont and Invista after 32 years of service as a lab technician. He was instrumental in developing and establishing lab techniques to improve accuracy and implemented time saving procedures and protocols to enhance overall performance for lab personnel. James enjoyed being outdoors whether fishing, golfing or doing yard work. He was a devoted husband, godfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. His strong work ethic, kindness and easy-going personality were an inspiration to many. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Debbie Clements Stastny; brothers, Richard Stastny and Larry Stastny of DaCosta and Michael Stastny (Jennifer) of Victoria; in-laws, Sharlotte and Louis Botard of Angleton and Dennis and Vickie Clements of Mathis; numerous nieces and nephews; seven godchildren and his two fur babies, Katie and Lillie. Pallbearers will be Bill and Phil Dellinger, Ian Stastny, Charles Miller, Gary Parenica, and Darrell Swoboda. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caregivers of Hospice of South Texas and to the friends and relatives who provided support during this difficult time. Obituary: Edward J. Stasny, Sr., 76, of Victoria passed away peacefully , 28, 2016 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born 10, 1939 in Agua Dulce to the late Walter A. and Della Marie Kristek Stasny. He graduated from St. Johns High School in Robstown in 1958. He then began working in the oil field as a roughneck, working his way up through the ranks for over 30 years until he became a successful, much sought after fishing tool supervisor. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Schmidt Stasny whom he married 18, 1960 in Agua Dulce; daughter, Kimberly Garrett (Mark); sons, Edward Bubba Stasny, Jr. (Rachel) all of Victoria, Clifford James Stasny (companion, Corie) of Fannin, and Jeffery Walter Stasny (companion, Lori) of Victoria; sisters, Anna Garner of Goliad, Janice Shanks of Corpus Christi and Linda Wright of Alice; brothers, Walter Stasny (Elsie) of Alice; Robert Stasny of Cedar Park, and Larry Stasny (Cathy) of Midland; grandchildren, Kelly Kucera, Holly Parker, Kyle Stasny, Krystle Shelton, Kynzie Stasny, CJ Stasny, Shelby Stasny, Simon Loos and Amy Stasny; seven great-grandchildren; his beloved K9s, Sammie and Jeffe. Obituary: Delmore L. Stasny, 78, of Arlington, TX, went to heaven peacefully in his sleep on the 14th day of , 2012. He was born on the 17th day of , 1933 in Taylor, TX to Louis and Vlasta Stasny. Delmore, best known as D.L., attended school in Manor, TX while working on his parents farm prior to entering the USAF at the age of 18. D.L. was stationed in South Korea during the Korean War. D.L. married Janie K. Cervenka on the 11th of , 1953 and they lived together happily for the next 59 years. D.L. retired from Spillar Welding in 1998 after 41 years as a welder. Obituary: Charles H. Stasny, 92, of Bryan, passed away, , 29, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., , 2, 2014 with a Rosary to be recited 7:00 P.M. at Memorial Chapel in Bryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 P.M., , 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. Entombment will follow at the Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Catholic in Bryan. Charles was born 22, 1921 in Bryan, the son of John J. and Jennie Kosh Stasny. His education at Texas A&M was interrupted by WWII when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater as a radioman aboard the USS McCawley, USS President, USS Appalachian and the USS Harry Lee. the war he returned to Bryan and worked for Lone Star Gas and eventually was a US Postal Clerk until his retirement. Mr. Stasny was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was also an expert 42 player, Aggie fan, and enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Mr. Stasny was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was a very active volunteer, changing out books, preparing the newsletter mail outs and was an all-around handyman when needed. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1834, American Legion, Earl Graham Post #159, and Age Managers at St. Joseph. He was a longtime supporter of Boy Scouts and a former Cubmaster and Scoutmaster. He was also involved with Habitat for Humanity, where more recently he was primary sponsor of the Charles and Mary Anne Stasny Habitat for Humanity House. Charles was the subject of a children's book, The Firegator, which has become the mascot of the children's museum. (First edition published in 2002.) Mr. Stasny was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anne Stasny in May of 2013. Survivors include his sons and their wives, James & Addie Stasny, David & Mary Stasny, Greg & Tracy Stasny; a daughter, Anne Stasny; grandchildren, Mark & his wife Shellie Stasny, Tina & her husband Ed Chase, Cindy & her husband Bryan Dippel, Stephen Stasny, Sarah Stasny, John & his wife Courtney Stasny, Rachel Stasny, and George & his wife Sarah Stasny; ten great grandsons and two great granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Still Creek Ranch, St. Joseph Church or the charity of your choice. |
